Good little discount but don't be duped into thinking this is a workhorse. It's only 50% duty cycle rated. Stick with Rolair, MiTM and IR for 100%

Website says "New Lower Price". I was just in-store this morning and boxes were staged in the racetrack area with paper signage.

Makita's air compressors are great. They have high duty cycles, high HP, high CFM compared to others in their class. They are made in Italy, where almost all high-end compressors are made, and are built like tanks.

Downsides: they typically have smaller tanks, are heavy beyond belief, and are not oil free.

If you're a home-gamer, I'd recommend a lightweight pancake compressor

Looking at this Husky for light use in the garage: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-4-5-Gal-Portable-Electric-Powered-Silent-Air-Compressor-3320445/305026725

Define "light use". This might cut it @ $33 on clearance.

I have this compressor. Its a beast.

It was a little louder than i would like for an oiled compressor.

Family members have the smaller version of this guy with twin tanks on the back (mac2400....something like that), and its much quieter, but a lot less powerful.

This is a great compressor. I just purchased about 1 year ago and runs like a champ compared to several other name brands I have used. The only cons if you consider them to be, is this is very very heavy but mitigated with built in dolly and two very loud, this also mitigated by keeping it in a closed bedroom (for carpenters) and longer air hose. Quick cycles and I can run a framing gun all day without having to wory about it keeping up..

I've been very happy with my MAC2400 for shop use or a day's worth of finish nailing, I'm sure this one is just as good or better. Can confirm the heft of the Makita compressors. I modified a hand truck to make mine easier to move and store hoses...no need for that here with the built-in cart / storage. $299 is as low as I've ever seen besides refurbished and the extreme YMMV clearance someone reported a few years ago.
