Jamo S 83 Center Speaker [amazon.com]

Walnut color for $110.09 [amazon.com]

This is the cheapest I have seen this speaker, I paid $110 for it WAY back about a year ago at Adorama.

I have this center speaker and it sound great, nice and clear sound with nice bass. The speaker is being pushed by the Yamaha TSR-700 receiver.

My system in my den are all Jamo speakers except for the sub, the sub is SVS PB-1000.

The reason I went with the Jamo was for price, my den was going to be nothing special. I have the s-803 bookshelf in the front, s-83 for the center and the Jamo 8.5CS 8.5" Round In-Ceiling Surround for my rear. To my surprise, these speakers sound great. After saving a little money, I add the Atmos speakers to the front speakers and boy, I was blown away. The Atmos speakers combined with the ceiling speakers really added a lot.

With the sub, I started off with a $100 Jamo sub but it kind of laid there. So I got the SVS PB-1000 sub and that sent my setup over the top. The surround sound coming from these cheap little speakers are astonishing. Except for the Jamo sub, I have no regrets on these Jamo speakers, they really rock!!!

I think you did it the smart way.
I have an S 809 pair (bought last year from Adorama for $200 + sh), bought the S 83 last week for $117 at Amazon, and waiting for the S 803 pair to go on sale for surrounds. I mostly listen to the S 809 pair using an older Technics analog receiver. I love the sound for most music and TV. For some music, such as rap, a good subwoofer such as yours would be helpful, but most music doesn't go to such low frequencies. I have an older AudioSource 15" 200W sub, but have not used it for the Jamo setup.

I did it this way because I have a wife that is a pain in the butt about me spending money on stuff like this so I had to piece meal my system together.....she keeps me in check though.

Can you clarify the part about, "The Atmos speakers combined with the ceiling speakers really added a lot?"

Does that mean your "rear" surrounds are in-ceiling and you're using the Atmos speakers on top of your front L/R speakers?

If so, how are you liking it? I have an open concept house and I'm having trouble coming up with an aesthetically pleasing way to have rear speakers in the middle of the room. Already have ceiling speakers installed though.

Please see the attached photos, they are of my den. With my chair, my back surround sound speakers are in the ceiling. With the front, the Jamo s 8 Atmos speakers are on top of the Jamo s 803 bookshelf speakers. Now, my den is small, 11*11 den. My ceiling speakers are right over my chair. That being said, the ceiling speakers sounded great before I got the Atmos speakers. After, the sound really shined, going from one end to the other.

I was really surprised at the sound the Jamos produced, it really blows my away. I just watched Spider-man: No Way Home, 4k and man, I felt like I was in a movie theater.

PS - Sorry about the glare in the TV, my cat opened the blinds right when I took the picture.

Awesome! I'm going to connect my ceiling at surrounds and maybe once the Atmos ones go on sale, I'll try them out. My setup probably won't work as good because my ceiling speakers are only ~5 feet in front of the TV (but above the couch), so they might combine with the Atmos reflection. Worth a shot though. Could always return. Thanks!
