That was a response to a question that asked how _low_ the temp goes to.

No clue where you get the 120 degrees FAHRENHEIT.
The bake mode on our model goes to 450F (we have the model w/out air fryer, but otherwise same... 5+ years and going strong. Use it all the time. Way better than having to heat a whole oven for a small meal).

We bought this exact model around Black Friday 2018 (says so on the Amazon page when I visit). We have used the hell out of it.

A couple of thoughts:
  • It's a wonderful little oven. we use it all the time for baking things
  • After 4 years, it has issues. We had an earlier version, non air fry where the knobs and buttons stopped working after awhile. This model has been OK.
  • BUT..after 4 years, this one will turn off randomly during cooking. It's quite frustrating.
  • Another thing, it's not a TRUE air fryer. Like, you can cook wings in it, sure, but you are going to make a hell of a mess on the bottom. We've actually thought about buying a true air fryer to get benefits of an actual air fryer. We do have some mats we put on the bottom, but it's still a mess to clean up.
  • We do cook fries, chicken nuggets, cheese sticks. and they turn out great in the air fryer. But again, anything greasy, we won't do, cause it's too much of a mess.

Overall, i'm probably going to jump on this deal. but wanted to provide some feedback.

i see lots of people complaining about the door. what exactly was the issue and how did you fix it?

Here is what was wrong with mine:

I fixed mine by bending down the lever on the microswitch. I had to remove the outer cover to access it. Not a big fix, probably a 2-3 out of 10...

In dehydrate mode it will go to 80* F.

I love this oven. I probably use my full size oven maybe 1 time every 3 months or even less. This heats up quicker and doesn't heat up the entire kitchen. For baking cookies, it rate it as mediocre, but everything else it excels.

If you're looking for an actual air fryer replacement, this is not it.

I have it and it doesn't compare in any way to my Philips air fryer in that it takes way longer, doesn't get the crispness level right, and isn't as easy to manage.

If you want an actual really nice toaster oven that will replace your oven for 99% of things and has pretty good convection settings, it's amazing, but it's not an air fryer.

Yep, agree, we used the air fryer in this a few times when we first got it, and basically stopped because it wasn't good, and for those kind of things (tots and fries) using the normal cook modes was just fine. At first we thought air fryer praise was just hype. But a year or so ago we grabbed a Ninja smart (indoor) grill/air fryer slick deal, and NOW we understand air fryer hype. My faster and crispier things, and we do use the air fryer for things we used to use the toaster oven for.

I put the second rack that came with mine on the bottom space, then put a piece of foil on it. That catches anything that drips off the food being cooked (air fry or otherwise) and is a quick, easy cleanup.

I also line the bottom tray with a piece of foil so it's easy to clean up, as well.

Just like to chime in with a counter point We cook cookies with ours the most, and we think it bakes cookies exceptionally well. I mean, we use it for cookies 2-3 times a week, for the last 4 years (i may be slightly over exaggerating, but not far off).

We usually make a huge batch of cookie dough, roll them into balls, then freeze them. We will then take a few out, and cook it here. We cook it on 325, cookie setting, and cookie rack setting. They come out perfect, every time. They are slightly brown/crisp on the edges, and soft inside. We brag about how well it cooks them.

Wanted to chime in and ask a question.

I've been using an older version of this countertop breville, going back at least 6, perhaps 7 years almost on a daily basis with absolutely no issues.

Since then, I rarely use my gas based oven. This breville is amazing. The temps are relatively stable. It is one of the best of its kind out in the market. Don't hesitate to buy, if you need one.

Question: so, this new model has the air fry feature. Mine doe not. Does anyone know how to be able to air fry using the setting from the older models ? I'm not all that creative in the kitchen but i follow steps and recipes and they turn out good.

Thank you !

My current Breville is 4 years old and starting to have issues with the controls not turning on the heating elements. Having a hard time spending this amount of money again on something that doesn't seem to last. I realize almost every appliance now is crap but does anyone have a recommendation for another model? If I have to replace every 3-4 years, I'd rather spend 100-150.

Dude was so ready to get angry at someone he thought was answering in Celcius that he didn't even bother to read the context or realize that 120C doesn't make sense as an answer either, lmao

Contact the manufacturer and plead your case. Mine was repaired outside warranty out 5 years ago and it's still going strong.

I used to have this. It's great but huge. Also the air fryer gets messy. I think it's better to have a separate air fryer for that purpose
