Great price and it'll work good for things with plenty of space around them like lug nuts, but being over 8" long is pretty big for a mid-torque impact wrench. Their other mid-torque (R86012) is both stronger and smaller, but more expensive.

That impact kit is the better deal for only $30 more because it also includes a Max bat instead of the standard bat. I have a $25 off $150 HD CC coupon that will sweeten the deal.

Anyone know if the impact only has been ~$100 or less before with at least 2 year warranty? I have 3 4.0 Ah batteries, probably don't want to buy any more kits if I can avoid it.

Max batteries is need for certain high torque activities if I'm not mistaken.

This impact kit is more powerful. Add the circular saw to it, then return the saw to HD and it brings the impact down to $161.52.

All new Ridgid tools come with 3 year warranty or LSA if you register your tool within 90 days of purchase.
I got the previous Octane version for $90 in Dec 2021 but tool only. This is the new version with more power and comes with charger and 4 ah Max battery. I say this is a better deal than what I got. You can always sell the Max battery and charger.

That is also a good deal but not every one wants or needs a larger, heavier, impact. And no hack needed for those that claim hacks are criminal or makes them uncomfortable.

Didn't even consider the size of it, was just thinking of greater functionality. Good point.

And personally I won't be losing any sleep over whether I returned an unopened power tool I didn't need to The Home Depot, Inc. to get a better price nod. This is how the game is played, it goes both ways, and they could easily put a stop to it if it was really an issue.

I bought the drill version of this from the Direct Tools outlet store two days ago for $35 with a one year warranty and it's working great.

If you don't already own an impact wrench, you totally need one. Used mine to remove the stuck anode rod from my water heater that the handyman couldn't break loose with a breaker bar. Then used it yesterday to pull off lug nuts from my car to rotate the tires. Not sure if this one has the auto setting which prevents over tightening when putting the lug nuts back on. I then used a torque wrench to get them on to the correct torque specs.

I don't think this has the auto mode, just the 3 speeds. Mine has the 3 speeds and the auto setting.
