Select Home Depot Stores have Ridgid R86215K [homedepot.com] 18V 1/2 in Impact Wrench with 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery and charger marked down to $98. Brickseek shows this on clearance and appears to accurately match in-store inventory for zip 30306. I can confirm there were 5 as of 2/3/24 at the Midtown Atlanta GA location, 30306, store 0159). I also saw a couple at the Merchants Walk store in Roswell, GA. Located on the endcap of tool aisle.

disregard. op linked to wrong product originally.

Ok if you need one now, but this is not brushless and has a regular battery.

This is the one. Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

They had at least 6 on the endcap on Saturday 2/3. I saw one at the Merchants Walk Store in Roswell, if you want to try to find it there. Same spot (endcap of the tool aisle)

I 've owned this combo for a while. I've yet run into a bolt/nut that this would not turn with minimal effort. For 99.999% of jobs this will work. I've gone to pull-your-part auto yards and have removed the rustiest of bolts from brake calipers, suspensions, and lugs, as well as taking off and putting on support cables/beams for homes, patios, and garage foundations.

Next to a pack of $3 condoms, it's easily one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I saw this in store and was tempted. I've got the standard Ridgid brushless impact... think this is worth the additional investment? I don't really work on cars ever

Ymmv but for many household tasks, you could use a socket adapter or nut turner in your impact driver to turn bolts like an impact wrench. You may run into trouble with very large bolts, rusted/stuck or auto parts with high tension. The Ridgid subcompact driver converts to 150 ft/lb which isn't nothing.

For example - I've used mine to take a couple bolts out of the kids treehouse for repairs. It works without much sweat. It would *probably* take the wheel lugs off a small car but nothing larger.

If you don't have a real need, maybe skip this and wait for a deeper discount from a bundle hack if you just like collecting.

That website is owned/ran by idiots. They are actively sinking and destroying their own product. The login process is arcane as well.

If you are looking for an excuse to spend money then yea get it. But will a DIYer actually ever need an impact wrench? Probably not.

BTW: Does anyone know if the normal price is actually $327 or is that a big markup?

Edit: why did some wanker downvote me for no reason?

nope.

this is mainly for cars, and vehicles. For household use, only that anode rod on a water heater would need something like this. That's replaced once every few years or maybe never.
