I have the bells of steel bar and it works well. It tips when you put a 45 on one side and not the other. But all other weights it seems balanced. The raised handles have stronger knurling than the lower handles. Feels very balanced when using, have gone up to 315 with no issues. If you're lifting more you'll have to ask someone stronger if they like it
Alright, I bit. Worst case, I have to return it.
If anyone can find any other mention of this bar, please let me know.
Specs would also be nice (why can't they at least list the basic dimensions?).
I can't find any reviews. The manufacturers website doesn't list it. The part # pulls up nothing.
It feels like I'm Guinee pigging a test product, but I hate my multipiece closed trap bar so much that I'll give this a go. Just need to try something new that's not $300+.
Received mine yesterday, took some photos [imgur.com].

No bronze bushings, weighs 38 lbs, knurled handles (painted and passive), 9.5 inch sleeves with Signature Fitness end-cap.

Definitely a steal for the price, but not identical to the Bells of Steel version.

The closed bar has welded sleeves in case that matters to you.

From the look of the pictures it appears this trap bar is rackable, but may have poor knurl for a proper grip.

Yes it can hold them. No, I don't know how many. The picture and description both highlight that the sleeves are longer than normal. This hex bar should be able to hold more plates than a normal bar.

These are a quite a bit better than the closed style. You can get your first plates on while it's stood up and the bars are long enough to accommodate a decent number of bumper plates. That said, I prefer the 'rickshaw' style ones for DL and farmers carry.

No knurling and a slick paint job in the handles is a no go for me. That should be brought up to them as a safety issue. As someone who sweats like my life depends on it, I need to use liquid chalk between sets on heavily knurled bars. Not sure if knurled can be added. Otherwise this is a great deal.

I don't think it's rackable because the sleeves go directly to the hex part of the bar. Usually there is a straight part between the sleeves and the hex/diamond part of the bar to be able to rack it but I'm not seeing it on here.

Truly a mystery bar lol with no measurements. Which is pretty important because you want to make sure the grip width is where you want it to be since it's fixed and can't be adjusted.

Guess if I were to buy once cry once with this type of bar, I'd get Rep Open Trap Bar and pick which Width handles you want.

Lol but $99.. Ya never know till you try it I guess.

No knurling is a no go for me. Could use straps, but would rather have knurling.

What's the advantage to the open design vs closed design? I've always used a closed one and I'm looking to pick one up for my new home gym

I own two trap bars. Both are minimally knurled and grip has never been a limiting factor for me on a hex bar (up to around 500lb). I'd take some aggressive sandpaper to the handle areas and then doubt it would be an issue.

This looks like it has pretty long sleeves which is nice if using bumpers.

Personally I think the open trap bar feature is pretty unnecessary, easy enough to use a wedge to load plates. I guess you could do some rows but I can't think of much else that a closed trap bar wouldn't be as good for.
