Amazon claims $14.99 is a 25% discount off of regular price, implying that regular price is $20 - I've never seen this switch priced at $20. Amazon claiming a discount for a price they never sell for and then offering a coupon on top of that does not constitute a deal.

Who cares what percent off a deal is?? 12.99 is still cheaper than 14.99. Is 12.99 a good deal (13% off since you seem worried about that)?

I bought their smart dimmer with the dimming buttons, it's nice but it's not instant for some reason.
Also does anyone know if we can add a remote button that we can put on a night stand or stick to a wall or something, or can we get 3rd party buttons that does that through alexa?

I don't think TP-Link offers a remote button. Another manufacturer, Flic, offers buttons that work with Alexa routines, so I believe you could create a routine that triggers the TP-Link switch to go on/off based on the press of a Flic button. Unfortunately the Flic buttons require a hub and the "starter pack" with 3 buttons and the hub is pricy at $160.

Lutron has their Caseta line which has an option to use their Pico remotes on a bedside table etc., but again a hub is required along with having to use their wall switch and a Pico remote - $65

I don't know of any cheap button options.

I have Yolink for water/leak detectors, is there a chance to use a cheap button with yolink as interface?
I really can't believe there aren't simple solutions to these like you said routines button. I know there are ones that would have to be plugged but I thought maybe something like you plug the smart switcher to the wall, then when you use smart switch (or basically one that looks like a smart outlet) to trigger action, it moves into routines.

You know, like turning on/off imaginary light bulb, but it has a low frequency/battery compatible "local switch". I know it's kinda nonsense and I am making it more complicated unnecessarily but just a lesson before you invest in smart switches/dimmers, better double check the expandability and compatibility.

FYI - Compatible [home-assistant.io] with Home Assistant and doesn't require internet access after the initial setup, in my experience.

The status updated a bit slow in HA (a second or two), so I wasn't able to use it as a virtual button for the lights, but when connected normally, they respond very quickly to HA telling them to turn on, so I still use them in places where I don't have smartbulbs and actually want it to control the power going to the bulbs.

One item of note is that Unifi shows all of them with very poor signal quality. Other smart switches in the same wall show as excellent ... I still haven't had any issues with them connecting though, but, YMMV.

You think multiple different technologies here. Kasa uses wifi, and has no simple buttons. That's ZigBee area.
Phone widgets work just fine, though.
You may set up some server script to build up logic, especially 8f you have home assistant or something similar. It's not out of the box ready solution though

That's why I was hoping using Yolink switches actually, so this way it can be used as relay using IFTTT or just trigger through Alexa.

I might just use an old phone and make it always-on smart home controller.
Are there apps that I can design my own, or maybe does alexa have skins for that? I can just have one for bedroom with A/C controls, door status (locked/unlocked) and maybe "sleep mode" button and the light switch?

I just got a Caseta 3 way dimmer. The one dimmer replaces the original switch. The pico remote can be used anywhere without a hub. I put it in place where the old second switch was. The hub is needed if you want to use the app w the lights.

Yep, I initially had a couple of these and switched to Lutron Caseta, so much better. Another thing I learned with these is that they are fine in single gang boxes but if you put them in boxes with other switches they are thicker than the other switches so you will end up with bulging boxes.

EDIT: Disregard, the linked deal is not sold by Amazon.

Agreed no hub needed for local control, but the starter kit includes the hub, and is currently cheaper than the switch/Pico remote kit alone ($54.95 right now, but it's Amazon so that deal may expire at any time):. The hub and phone app offer a "Smart Away" scene which will randomize lights turning on/off if you are out of town:

I picked up a 3pk of these for $25.33 (used) from Amazon. When they arrived they were brand new and never used.

Idk if anyone answered but you can try nfc stickers and use a sticker on iPhone. Take a bit of time but you can buy like 50 for $10. Use one to do really cool things with the shortcuts app p
