I have about 50 Kasa products in my house between switches, outlets and bulbs, love them all. Really love their app as it is so easy to use and very basic but in particular gives you a sunrise/sunset option to turn on/off so it automatically knows as time changes in your area, others don't have that simple feature. Beats the heck out of if you want a light to turn on 15 minutes before sunset and off at sunrise to continually go in the program to change the times as the seasons change.

That said, I guess like most, prices have gone up. I just bought the majority of these in 2022 (although have had others for 6 years now) and I used to buy a 3 pack of these for $34 and singles for $14 so the sale now is still higher.

Only thing I wish Kasa offered was a ceiling fan/light combo like urlhasbeenblocked does.

If you are installing these in a multi box, say 3 switches, can be a tad more difficult as these are big boxes and take up space, gotta really work the wires in to the back of the box.

If you never had these and just want to put one in for say like an outside light, trust me, you will get hooked and want these all over your house. So great if you are out, even on vacation, want to turn on lights to make it look like you are home or turn on lights before you get home, can do that from anywhere with your phone.

And to be able to group up switches in different groups, hit one button to turn on or off, love it.

LOL yep I sound like a salesman for this but honestly, this is one of the best things I've ever done in my house. Using for years now and every night at 15min before sunset when I have about 30 lights in the house come on (low dim setting) I still get a smile, it is that awesome. Even that, it is so neat to get the dimmer ones and be able to adjust the dim setting from the phone.
They also have dimmer version for 19.99 minus $6 coupon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079775ZZQ

This is extremely well said and mirrors my circumstances and sentiments. I've had these switches just as long. A really flawless product. Highly recommend them. Even the ability to have your lights fade out to off at whatever speed you like makes your lights feel very "high end". The motion sensor switches are very good too!

When you set these to turn off by themselves, do they also click off? Or just turn off?

Not too sure what you mean by 'click off' vs turn off. The switch does not have a physical on/off location like up/down mechanical switch. Each time you physically push the switch it toggles on/off.

You can turn on/off the light either with the app or with the physical switch.

These are like the buttons on a computer mouse. They make the same sound and always return to the same position. There is no "flipping" them on or off like a regular toggle or decora switch. They are nice I've had them for years but they have limited selection and the 3 way switch roll out was a complete disaster. I've had 0 problems with them.

Do these work without a ground? I have another one is a single pole wifi, and it periodically needs to be reset. I think it's because i dont have a ground.

I agree, I have a lot and they always work well... As for the fan and light combo, are you wanting one like this? https://a.co/d/cWeTKAv

I have a mishmash of zigbee, zwave and WiFi that makes my HA more complex than it should be. I'd probably settle on TP-Link if their Tapo line had any 3-way products. Most of the lights I want to control in my home are not single pole.

Kasa does have a ceiling fan / light combo they released a little while back. I picked it up on Prime Day sales but haven't installed it yet. It's the KS240 [kasasmart.com].
