Yes, I bought these last time and I use the LaView software in the iPhone App Store to view video. Once you put an SD card or external drive you can do play back. The cameras need to be charged every 6-8 month depending on the settings
"Blink on woot" that is most likely refurbished...
Blink if you not to pay their subscription , you will be suffered, no thumbnail picture notification..., not mention it's battery is not rechargeable, one time use battery
Can these be watched live via local Wi-Fi without subscription or SD card? If so, does it use an open standard so I can use my choice of program to view the feed?

Not necessary. you can put SD card in the base station, you don't need subscription

Yes, you can open their app and check on each individual camera you want to check live or even look at recordings. No subscription required, just put an SD card and you're set (supports up to 128gb). Don't expect to have high definition where you can see a vehicles license plate clearly from far. Bought it last deal and it's really worth it specially for the price, it also has several functions for ex. Talk to someone thru the camera even tho the speakers isn't that loud, can have it set were if the camera gets "stolen" the alarm will go off and notify your phone. About battery life expect 6-9 months or 3-6 months if your cameras are in a spot where there's a lot of movement.

Don't complain the code is not working!
You need choose seller from "EagleEyeCCTV", otherwise the coupon code won't work.
There are two coupons for this
From the product page click $40 off coupon,
Use the code : FBUCD9DF in checkout to bring down price to $49.50.

Does anyone know how many additional cameras will connect to the base?
