The Toshiba TV division isnt produced by Toshiba themselves. Its produced by Hisense who bought them out a few years back along w/ Sharp (who recently purchased their brand back from Hisense to make high end LCD TVs, very excited to see this). The selling point for Toshiba under Hisense seems to be high color accuracy but extremely affordable tradeoffs are average movement processing, older LED backlighting tech & uses Amazon's OS instead of Android TV. So there's most likely going to be good long term support for it.
What kinda support do you need with $199 purchase?

Toshiba has been delisted in Japan, and I'm not sure what support we are expecting in the future.

Looking for a cheap 40"ish TV for my daughter's room. Checked out the Amazon 2-series last night at $180. This seems to offer much more for an additional $10 (additional size and 4K)... Any other known Slick Deals (available now or posted for BF) I should be aware of for "Cheap TVs" in this size range"?

Costco has a similarly spec'd 43" TCL on sale for the same price. 3 year warranty.

Nice, thanks! I'm a member and will probably go that route purely for the warranty.

I could not find a storage spec at any of the sellers or Toshiba. I would not buy a 8gb streeming device or tv set with out 16gb or more storage.

Also be aware that might be a moot issue if Amerzon makes good on the promise to go with ther own os that could make this as dumb as a roku.

How is a Fire TV compared to Roku? Never used one before.

Actually, Foxconn bought Sharp brand from Hisense. Foxconn is a con artist and just put a local government in Wisconsin in the edge of bankruptcy by deceptive promises (https://shepherdexpress.com/news/...ys-a-scam/), so what would you expect from it?

That Foxconn link doesn't work. I am curious, I used to work for Sharp back when it was Sharp so I wanna see the details on the Foxconn thing

For the love of God, please get fire tv. Fire tv is fast, super responsive, user intuitive, also you can get Internet browser(silk) and Alexa integration. So much more. Just a crisp clean software. I used it for 5 min at a friends house and switched all the TVs in the house to fire tv

I bought the 43LF711U20 (similar model) in April 2020 and put it outside on the corner under covered patio (e.g. if it rained hard it may get some mist)...made it through 3.5 years, a week of hard freeze, houston heat and humidity, etc). sound was excellent for outside (ended up buying a bigger veraion for the garage); eventually wife wanted surround for the pool and was easily able to connect it to the receiver via Bluetooth so transition was seemless. It just bit the dust last week, I think I paid 150 for it, well worth it imo...just bought this one to replace it.

Reviews say the brightness is low so outside usage could be poor with the sun. Have you found this to be true?

No problem opening the last link but I removed the handler so you can see the full link text.
