Was last just a couple days ago. This is going to be much cheaper in the coming months for open box, just like the Rog Ally

The same can be said about most electronics.
This is a great deal for someone that wants it now if the device is clean and doesn't show signs of use.

The Ally dropped in price much quicker than most things and best buy lies about open box quality. You're talking in general terms that don't apply

I bought a open box recently. Came looking new but had issues with the device shutting off by itself when i use it being charged. I have extended period to return so i might do that. Love the screen but the software is eh. The fan is also loud. I wish steam deck updated its oled model with this processor bc i like their software the best

I gotta agree with this guy. Kinda nuts that the ROG that the ally released 5 months ago MSRP at 699 and was already going open box excellent for 450s a week ago.

I get theres more market saturation with handhelds but I'm torn between being cheap and justifying more toys. How much lower can it get within release year? lol

I say there will be a huge fall off in price around late January because people would have exhausted their gift cards and holiday shopping budget. Lots of people will not have money to spend after the holidays and demand for consumer products just drop dead around that time. If there are plenty of returns, then it would be easy to pick one up open box. Of course, that also means the product isn't great if it has so many returns

Plus CES may reveal new APU chips that would make the Z1 obsolete

I got the Ally open box excellent when it was under $500 recently and I received a complete and basically new unit. Really enjoying it but I also jumped on this deal since I figure I'll likely get a basically brand new unit for much less. Selling my launch Steamdeck soon and gonna compare these two and decide which to keep 😊.

Use the custom TDP setting instead of the default one. Got Ratchet and Clank running at 7 TDP without any issues, on pre-configure performance TDP the game ran awful. Seems like a bug.

They wouldn't because they want to maximize efficiency in battery life. Imagine having less battery life having the Z1 processor. The OLED screen helps with the battery life too. I would think they're reserving a newer processor for Deck 2 while adjusting it for clocks for better efficiency in power. I personally want a device to maximize performance so either the Ally or Legion Go work for me (I play Genshin Impact on Windows with my Deck) and I normally am connected on power so the portability isn't something I really need. But I totally understand why Valve pushes for efficiency. It worked for Nintendo with their handheld hybrid and it's still selling well.

If you can get the Ally for $450 then that is a steal. Almost worth getting a second for that. Using it on vacation now. Love it.

Obsolete is a strong word. Maybe less appealing.

3070's are not obsolete.
