Of course relative value and financial spending decisions are subjective and debatable, but no doubt this is a good value for the performance it provides within the context of home audio equipment.
That's generally a question of the value to you of what a subwoofer does and your particular wants/needs. If you think a subwoofer provides value, are looking for a subwoofer in this class, and think comparable subwoofers are priced appropriately, then this is a great price. If you don't, you either don't need this class of a subwoofer or don't need one at all.
I have two 1400 rp and they are unbelievable

Is the sound (vibration) so good that it warrants even the sale price? I think this is an example of a fool being separated from his money.

I have the RP-1400SW and I'm tempted! Although the RP-1400SW is already too much for my needs plus it's better for music, which is my main use.

Sounds more like a fool who worries what others do with their money.

But anyhow, the bass from this is simply amazing. You feel it more than hear it... As does your house. There are things where "you get what you pay for", and this absolutely falls under that.

Now, if you want to debate whether my $500 Versace belt was worth it, at least I understand thinking that's a waste.

stay with the 14 then...future proof with the 1600 just in case you want a smooth astral projection initiated only by the 16 inch?

im still trying to decide between the 14 and 16 myself...not really in a rush to make one of those, "i should have", purchases

Will this help me win the noise war with my neighbor? What else would I need for this?

Correct, the RP-1400 is better for music. Get another one.
