This is a brad nailer so the nails are not really strong enough for applications needing strong holds. This is more to hold thin/weak wood. I use these when putting up trim molding and the like.
You'd need at least a "finish" nailer for applications where the nails are actually there as a permament and strong hold. Finish nails are generally 16 guage as opposed to the 18 guage of a brad nail.
But for me personally, for an outdoor fence, if it's a strong structural hold I needed I would use real nails, not a brad/finish.
I'm not sure of the durability of brad or finish nails out in the outdoor elements. Not sure they are stainless or something that won't corrode.

As un-luck would have it, my compressor tank also had an air leak in one of the welds so it was leaking air. Still holding good enough to work, but compressor was running almost constantly because of the hole.
So I ended up going to Home Depot and getting a Ridgid combo back (pancake compressor, staple gun, brad gun, finish gun) instead. I figured I needed a new brad nailer and compressor anyways, so this option ended up getting me a finish nailer and staple gun for about $20 additional each, so seemed like a fair deal to me.
Good deal on a cheap brad nailer if you just need something quick and cheap though. If I didn't need a new compressor as well, I probably would have gotten this since I don't use it very much.

I was debating getting the Ridigid combo or the Kobalt version (which is apparently the same product, made at the same factory) but I figure that nailers that come with those combo packs probably aren't as good as this one.
