But the 20V PWR CORE brushless drill and impact drivers I have are so much more compact and nicer than their Ryobi brushless equivalents.
This coming from a Ryobi die-hard. (Former DeWalt.)
Also 12v line up isn't bad for a home owner that just needs a few tools. Circular saw. Hackzall. Right angle drill. Impact wrench. Right angle impact socket wrench. Lights.
If you just need a couple tools and smaller size and lighter weight, def consider these.
If you need tools for a living go to the M12. If you need a incredible amount of tools go to the M12.
I personally have a dozen M12 Fuel tools. I wouldn't be mad if I had these Skil at this price.

The 12v Skil impact driver's maximum torque is fine, but that really shouldn't be the only metric that you judge compact little lightweight 12v impact drivers by. I'm sorry that the speed test in that video didn't meet your specifications, but nevertheless, it does show that the Skil can't keep up with the better M12.

You say "max torque is fine but should be the only metric". Well I say screwing a nylon nut onto a 10 inch bolt shouldn't be the only metric either.
The two tools match each other in Total torque aka keeps up easily.
This video shows that with 10 decks screws, normal job for a impact driver, the Skil was 2 seconds more. Again KEEPS UP WITH.

The only time the M12 decently beats the Skil is for something that requires high torque quickly. Like a 1/2 or bigger lag bolts. If you need high torque plus high speed a Ryobi 18v Brushless will be quicker and better than the M12 for less.
If the M12 is a 10/10 than the Skil is 9.5/10. And with this sale over half the price. Again Keeps up with is accurate.
PS I own Gen 2 M12 Fuel drill and impact. I'm a fan.
