I've had 3 of these. They are nice. Definitely worth 30 bucks but will eventually run into a double click issue. Usually last 1-3 years depending on use. Maybe less than a year if you're a very heavy gamer. Double click is a little bit worse on this model but it's not isolated to the 305, or even logitech. I've had it happen to my razer orochi v2 as well.
Agreed Great mouse, but most of mine had some issue after a year or two of use. Either the double click issue, or the scrollwheel not working properly. Logitech is great at sending replacements if you're still within the return period - otherwise, just buy a few at the $30 price point, and then you won't feel bad at all when they die. Sad about the ewaste, but this mouse is fantastic otherwise.
BTW, it's not only this. All Logitech are like these. I have G304 G305 G201 G903 G502X Lights peed and all kinds of Logitech mouses for my family. They usually last for 2 years and eventually double click no matter what model you are buying. The click is just designed to die anyway.

I doubt it is Logitech's fault, though, because I only use Logitech. Other brands most likely are the same. if you are not a heavy user it's no problem and serves you 3 years easily. Anyway you will want to throw it away in 3 years.

I've had this for over 3 years and it has yet to develop any issues, but I don't use it heavily neither.

The double clicking concern is well warranted, if you have a premium credit card it would be a good idea to use that to get an additional year worth of warranty.

I have a G604. How does the G305 compare to the G604?

I wish Logitech would just remake the G500 mouse. It was perfection. They must have realized it was too well built. That's the only thing I can think of. Mine must have lasted like 6 years. Shortly after that they started making mice that last a little beyond the warranty date to make sure you buy another mouse on a scheduled time frame. It's too bad NO ONE (as far as I know) makes a mouse with a hyperscroll wheel (or something similar). The G500 scroll wheel is perfect. The newer version of the scroll wheel (G502 Hero) is awful. If you switch to precision mode the scroll wheel when spun will make a tactile bump feedback but it doesn't always register on screen while gaming. Can't tell you how many times I've perished in an FPS shooter game because of the inconsistency of their bunk scroll wheel. It wasn't always that bad. Bring back the G500, Logitech!

That's logitech's claim to fame. Once you use a hyperscroll wheel you don't want to go back. I really wish I could get off of the Logitech rollercoaster ride, but it looks like there are no other options for a reasonable price (hyperscroll).

so the problem with this mouse is when you're using a rechargeable AA battery with dirty contact points. the mouse would often disconnect if you're moving fast. clean your AA batteries with some alcohol swabs and it should fix it.

Bought this earlier this year for work since I use a G Pro at home.

When I got it, I noticed the middle mouse button, when clicked, has a horrible feedback that kind of shakes the whole mouse. Assumed it was a defect, did an rma, and the replacement had the exact same behavior.

Deal breaker for me, as I middle click all day to open new browser tabs. I just bought another G pro in the recent deal.

I have used my one G305 so much as a work mouse, the G has faded off completely. No double click, but i don't game on it much. My G703 has double click on 2 of them, on the third one now, but i love the shape and gaming performance. The newer models have a newer switch supplier, so should be more reliable.

I bought this mouse in Blue in 2021 and I've only replaced the battery twice I think. I use for work, so ~8 hours per day 5 days a week. Great mouse.

Own one, have used it as my daily driver for my desktop until the G logo wore off similarly. Can also confirm that it's a fine mouse, but keep in mind its original purpose:

It's intended to be a very low latency gaming mouse with a dedicated dongle for that purpose.
It has a good medium size, decent weight, and good tactile and audible left/right and back/forward clicks with a sensitivity button.

With all that though, come the comparisons to modern mice show some shortcomings:
For gaming and those neeidng very lightweight flickable mice, there are much, much lighter mice.
For normal everyday use, anything avoiding a dedicated dongle, or also adding in bluetooth (mx masters) are much more useful.
For those who just want a simple mouse for the office, the loud-ass clicks will be very distracting on meetings and calls (I've been called out for not paying attention) and mice with silent clicks are much better. I'm about to do a silent click swap to my G305 as well (need a fresh set of sliders since the screws were placed beneath those).

All in all, for those who need a dedicated, low latency mouse who dont mind a loud click, go nuts!
