Same. Not sure where these supposed negative reviews of the Snapdragon PCs are coming from, because they're all very positive. I have a Samsung with the X Elite CPU and it's been outstanding.
Not sure what reviews you are reading. I have the surface pro and for pure cpu this thing is faster than my MacBook M3 Pro when you use Arm developed software. I develop CPU intensive simulations. (Have to use WSL for Python that is for Arm) For graphics it is slower. All the usual stuff browsing Microsoft Office etc is smooth as butter. I have a Mac Studio M1 Ultra and on my uses the surface pro runs my code almost as fast.

If I can get an Arm desktop I may finally be able to get back to 100pct windows.
This seems like a pretty hot deal? I'd happily pay the full $113 retail cost to upgrade to 32GB ram + 1TB ssd. Still, this is a kickass slim design with OLED screen that strikes a good balance between 1440p vs 4k.

Is Lenovo still loading these up with their in-house/McAfee/etc bloatware here in 2024? Not having to deal with that sorta crap is worth another $50-100 imo.

My son needs a laptop for high school so this works out perfect. We have Total Tech Support so if anything goes wrong we are covered.

Thanks OP

Only downside of this laptop is the processor at the moment. Read reviews of Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. I would avoid it till I get more visibility on this processor

How do games run on Snapdragon based machines? Not talking just about the newest AAA titles.

Usually lower fps and some compatibility problems. But, things will get better, and games on other ARM systems such as Switch will be easier to port over to ARM PCs.

The problem is that as soon as you start a sentence by "it is faster than …. when …." You are entering nitpicking territory.

You picked the mac because the overall experience was flawless, no nitpicking.

Especially in a work environment ? I look for consistency and stability and conpatibility.
No time to be a guinea pig.

So yes, i am sure they will fix things and gen2 or 3 will be amazing but not right at this moment.
