This one runs nice and cool and quiet, and lasts me at least an entire work day. I am not a gamer so if that's important to you, then look elsewhere.

I see no reason to get snapdragon machines now given the battery life and pretty "good enough" performance and zero compatibility issues.
It is more expensive now at what seems a big higher than some snapdragons.

Battery testing was good but that's continuous use. I think "sleep" was 4% overnight drain which is never going to be as good as Macs.
I think the software compatibility issue will still plague Snapdragon for a long time but could be fine for most people who run "normal apps".
Now we have Intel and AMD new chips the developers don't have to do anything special to port the code and they may not care to do Snapdragon since it may not get enough traction for a long time. It's a pain in the ass for them to maintain 2 architectures.
Maybe this will drive down Snapdragon laptops big time though

True, it is more expensive since some laptops are $1250-$1400 but I saw one for $999 (screen not as good and only 1080p and not the OLED 2k-2.5k resolution screens).

$949, oops it is OLED. nice. I'll pick it up for $700 open box later. First gen Ultra are dropping to $600 level on some open box already too
Snapdragon has too many limitations for me also after I looked into it and saw the price dropping so while it was attractive I would get annoyed quick if I can't run certain apps.
I thought M1 had more apps faster though because Apple put the pressure on and the emulation was much better.
I'll wait for some open boxes, the battery is good enough but I think it is expensive.
I have a 2.7lb xps 13 1260p. It's fast enough and while battery really sucks on it, I use it maybe for an hour each day so doesn't matter for now.
I have a lot of older gen wintel, maybe I'll dump them all cheap and buy one Lunar lake lol
