anyone know if this has hinge issues? I'm confused if all Yoga models have 360 degree pivot hinges? And then confused if all Yoga 360 degree hinges are subject to the same - 'made of plastic and going to fail after a couple of years' quality issues.

Also, Best Buy "Good" used shows $711 and change for me... That's seriously tempting!

This one is oddly named since screen doesn't open all the way back.

That's a fantastic computer for $700. I purchased a used one in excellent condition and it didn't even have dust on it. All my apps and favorite indie games are working on it. I think a lot of people returning them because they are afraid that Windows on ARM is a dead end, but I think ARM has a great future.

I bought this laptop open box a couple of months ago. Couldn't be happier. Battery life is amazing (Which is really the only reason I bought it) but it's also faster than the Lenovo X1 Carbon it's replaced which had a 1260p Intel CPU.
This one runs nice and cool and quiet, and lasts me at least an entire work day. I am not a gamer so if that's important to you, then look elsewhere.

Lunar Lake reviews are finally out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz3jGE3jJOI

I see no reason to get snapdragon machines now given the battery life and pretty "good enough" performance and zero compatibility issues.

It is more expensive now at what seems a big higher than some snapdragons.

Performance is not impressive, and the price difference is huge. Also Lunar Lake can't go to sleep and then resume like ARM laptops do. We're hunting for $700 laptops here.

I though Single core was good (only fell behind M3) and multi-core was slower (because it is just 8 cores vs. 16). It's not going to be a workhouse with integrated GPU anyway.

Battery testing was good but that's continuous use. I think "sleep" was 4% overnight drain which is never going to be as good as Macs.

I think the software compatibility issue will still plague Snapdragon for a long time but could be fine for most people who run "normal apps".

Now we have Intel and AMD new chips the developers don't have to do anything special to port the code and they may not care to do Snapdragon since it may not get enough traction for a long time. It's a pain in the ass for them to maintain 2 architectures.

Maybe this will drive down Snapdragon laptops big time though

Lunar Lake laptops are double the price, and you can't do any serious gaming on it anyway because it's a thin and light laptop. It's intended for browsing, watching movies doing some office work. My problem with Snapdragon is that it can't run Linux and can't be used for Ruby on Rails software development. But I'm sure that just in 1 year it'll all be supported exactly like it happened with M1 Macs. However once Windows on ARM reaches a decent level of compatibility the prices will jump back to $1500. So it's a good purchase right now for those who prefer Windows and satisfied with the current compatibility. And I think the adoption will be significant considering how good these laptops are for the price.

True, it is more expensive since some laptops are $1250-$1400 but I saw one for $999 (screen not as good and only 1080p and not the OLED 2k-2.5k resolution screens).

$949, oops it is OLED. nice. I'll pick it up for $700 open box later. First gen Ultra are dropping to $600 level on some open box already too

Snapdragon has too many limitations for me also after I looked into it and saw the price dropping so while it was attractive I would get annoyed quick if I can't run certain apps.

I thought M1 had more apps faster though because Apple put the pressure on and the emulation was much better.

I'll wait for some open boxes, the battery is good enough but I think it is expensive.

I have a 2.7lb xps 13 1260p. It's fast enough and while battery really sucks on it, I use it maybe for an hour each day so doesn't matter for now.

I have a lot of older gen wintel, maybe I'll dump them all cheap and buy one Lunar lake lol
