Nice, except for that display. Would be good if you are going to use another monitor.

It's not the brightest display, but at least it's 100% sRGB. 300 nits is fine for most indoor usage.

Some gaming laptops still use 250nits 45% NTSC screens.

Are the 13th and 14th gen Intel issues specific to desktop chips or are these affected too?

Junky gpu with very low wattage 1080 is good enough
Might be OK if you said low VRAM since 8GB is crazy for a 70-class when the 1070 mobile had 8GB back in 2017. Issue is the price is pretty solid on this.

I dont think there is any reason to pay more for this when that A16 from Asus with the 7700s was going for around $700 depending on which sale its on. In gaming performance this asus would be slightly better, and not drastically better, from the few tests I looked at.

Reliability is one factor. I had issues with sleep caused by AMD graphics drivers on that same model (7600s instead) and I didn't have it with my past AMD/NV or Intel/NV laptops. Luckily I fixed it but I think most would have just returned it.

You also get DLSS and RTX which are becoming more useful, so it depends on how much you want to spend.

AMD dominates the low end but Nvidia becomes tough competition towards the mid-high end. Though I agree, another $50 or 100 off would make this a bit better.

Keyboard won't register a lot of key combinations like SHFT + W + Z for example. In a lot of games this combination would be used to suddenly go prone while sprinting. This *will* get you killed. A lot of other problematic key combinations.

So ur gonna use another monitor outdoors bc 300nits is perfectly adequate indoors
