Anyone chime in if this would be an upgrade over the Sony STR-dh590. pushing jamo 807s,81,801s because this Sony heats up horrid pushing these even with active cooling fans.

It's not bad honestly when I had it paired with the 6ohm sony speakers but with these 8 ohm ones its underwhelming.

Unless you need HDMI 2.1, no

I've had the in Onkyo TX-SR393 in my Amazon cart for months. I instantly bought this because it seems like the better deal.

This seems like a nice deal. My Marantz SR5008 is starting to turn off during music, probably a failing board

I'm looking forward to having bluetooth, I am currently using a cheap adapter that I have to turn on by hand every time

Dang, I paid $340 for this back in June. Awesome bang for your buck at $220. Probably can't beat it for that price. No brainer for an entry level receiver if you don't need 7 channels.

All the current formats and HDMI 2.1. Works great on my Xbox Series X. All green checks.

I might recommend you explore integrated amplifiers unless you really need HDMI and multi-channel. Sound quality and longevity.

You didn't see the BB deal for the Pioneer VSX-LX305 OB for $321, that's Pioneer's equivalent!

I'm afraid to get any A/V equipment that supports HDMI 2.1 or HDCP 2+. My projector doesn't support HDCP at all, so I've been using a workaround to strip HDCP from the HDMI cables. I don't have any 4K capable displays.

Are my fears of any use or will everything "just work"? I use Kodi on Raspberry Pi hardware for nearly all playback of content from a local media server (wired ethernet connections) on the other side of the house.

I have an old Onkyo and the remote for it is absolutely terrible. https://support.onkyousa.com/hc/e...Controller is the remote. Looks better than what my older receiver has.
