I have one of these, one of the only Mini PCs around this price point that have Type C power.

These have had bad rep in the past for having shady software installed. As you should with all Mini PCs, install your own OS.

You can find them on their website. What you want are the AM06 Pro Drivers

I have had many hardware issues with Ace Magician products. Of the 8 or so purchased, half have failed within 1 year and most within two months. Customer service is awful, and they make you jump through so many hoops to get a repair or replacement.

The price is very attractive, but there is a reason these are so inexpensive.

Thanks for sharing. I bought one of these a year or two ago. I did not have this issue. If I did see it, I must've not had a hard time removing the browser or the browser defaults. SD love this brand. I'm surprised nobody else noticed either. Was that the only thing? Browser and chrome defaults for search engine?

Edit: also, it's not unusual for a maker of computers to install their own software. HP machines have HP software and Dell have Dell software. I'm confused what the concern is or if this author is experienced enough to uninstall browsers.
There was never anything really proven. They just hypothesized that if you can't change the default search engine, what else is being done that you don't know about.

AceMagician responded to this by saying that they were not the ones that installed the software. I think it's always best to just format, get drivers, and start over

Can you share where to get all the drivers? To me, it is always a pain and very time-consuming.

I don't really see anything in installed programs, I have everything disabled in startup apps, and I have windows defender activated. Is this enough? Or is the possibility that the spyware is baked into the Microsoft files?

Is there a non-Intel or ASUS mini PC with a 3.5" bay/SATA connector? I just want to drop in my old disk.

I wish there was a good solution to give something like this a frontend similar to AndroidTV and then use it as a powerful streaming/emulation device, similar to a Shield, but better and more capable. Need something wife/kid/remote user friendly, so hacks aren't going to work.

800% slower than my clearance-bin Asus TUF w/ NVIDIA 3060 from 3 years ago according to gpu.userbenchmark.com.

75% cheaper than what I paid then... But still pretty slow by todays standards.

RX Vega 8 also released in 2018, so it's rather dated.
It's a freaking minipc meant for office usage, why the hell are you comparing GPU performance.

Rootkit level malwares can easily evade most consumer AV.

are you comparing specs or manufacturing date?

remember. newer isnt better. you can have an appliance lasted for decades back in 1990s but only lasted 6 months now. the same brandname.

Is this would be faster than a mid range laptop produced around 2020-21? I am going to use it for office but need to work on 25+ chrome tabs, messenger and Google docs/sheets with some music on background from YouTube. That's all I need.
