Read about hinge and lcd backcover issues on this model on multiple forums. Poor design, be careful
Fwiw I've owned five x360s since 2015 and have never had any issue with the backcover nor the hinges🤷 ♂️ The only problem I've had is the power port getting loose once but that's not exactly unique to HP and to their credit they repaired it under warranty. But if you're concerned you can always buy HP's fully refundable 3yr extended warranty when they go on sale for ~$70-80 anytime before the 1yr default warranty runs out. And they will refund the entire price at the end of the 3yrs if you don't end up filing a claim. And it covers drops/spills too.

Specs look great. If I had to nitpick, it would be about the nits on the display 😀
Processor is the newer one, higher speed DDR5, BT 5.3.... Enjoy !
From a usage perspective, I don't really end up using the folding feature so much - using a 16-inch, 4+ pound laptop as a tablet is daunting to most normal humans. In that context, any problems with the hinge should not matter.

Thank you for your valuable feedback.
Is 300 nits considered low? And is the $543 for an open box excellent condition a really good price or do you think I should wait?

Decent. Just want a oled.

triggered by wanting oled. lmao
Same until I got one. Battery life on OLED has been ~half of non-oled in my experience.

Couldn't find any historical prices to compare with.
What would be considered a great price?

300 nits is decent enough, if you're not regularly using the machine in an extremely well lit room - or out in the open, like in your backyard or a sunroom.
