These are solid instruments. The mid- and upper-tier Epiphone stuff is nicely made. The silver burst of this model looks killer. I wish it came with at least a gig bag, but there are several inexpensive options to fill that gap.

I have to admit that my own Epi LP Standard Pro Plustop came with those Probuckers, and I didn't care for the one in the neck at all. It was much too dark. I replaced both pickups with the Duncan Hotrodded Humbucker pair (59 and JB) that were given to me free by a friend, and I can't find a thing to dislike about it.

These might (MIGHT) get a bit cheaper closer to Black Friday if the $50 you might save matters.

I'm not seeing much under $1k, and they're typically a decade olds or older.

I have the extura prophecy. It's my absolute favorite instrument. Well worth it, and consistent.
Edit: nevermind, didn't read the title correctly. Same hardware and build quality, though.

My 2 cents, my Epi Les Paul Modern arrived and was a great guitar at the price point with solid build quality. Fast Forward 2 years later and the headstock broke off in my hand while doing a restring and polish, with zero trauma to the guitar. Google Les Paul headstock breaks, it's insanely common with even light damage. I knew about them, but of course thought it wouldn't happen to me. The worst part, Gibson not only refused to even look at the guitar for warranty work, they called me a liar and refused to look at my photos or inspect the guitar for defects. Never buying a Gibson again.
