I would imagine this credit limit is not typical for most people who get this card.

Citi will be the exclusive partner to American Airlines in 2026 and might be able to transfer TYP to AA.

my income is $150k+ with little debt. Qualified for $2k credit limit. I called and got rejected for increase.

A pain because I cannot put an all inclusive vacation of $5k on the card.
First time ever being denied credit limit below $5k. Have to split into multiple payments.

Such a pain in the A

Is this card available to use immediately once approved or do you need to wait for it to come in the mail? Also I saw another commenter say it took up to 2 weeks for the card to come by mail, is that accurate?

i wonder if hotels booked through cititravel.com are more expensive than booking direct from the hotel, would basically offset some or all of the $100 discount,, i noticed this is the case with hotels booked with amex

No, you have to wait for it to come in the mail. I was approved on 2/3/25, shipped on 2/5/25, and should be delivered by 2/11/25.

It shouldn't matter how much debt you have if you already have other cards with high limits. Your total limit is more relevant -- if you have a bank account that shows your credit score, it will tell you what your stats are.

I have had an amazon card forever, it's at 6k. It started at 4k and I got an increase I didn't ask for. Somewhere along the way, I applied for Instacart because I wanted that bonus and bam, 20k. I asked for an increase on the Amazon card -- because thats a more permanent card for me and this didnt make sense -- and they said no because my overall limit was too high. The new card basically took up empty space.

I was approved on1/17 and received my card on 1/27. Just hit the $4k in spending today so hoping the bonus points are available when my 1st statement posts on 2/18.

Not necessarily. They use booking.com but it looks like some subset of what's available on booking. In the past year - used them for a Hilton brand property with their price at $800 vs $900+ everywhere else. 10x points was on top of it. Few other bookings were the same price as a best I can find on other sites, but again - x10 points on top of it. Generally - if you can find a price on booking.com which is the best comparing to others - most likely you will be able to get it on citi travel portal too.

Can the points be used for cash back? Or does it have to be gift cards or travel?

I have this card and you can redeem it for cash in your account

i tried several options last year and the additional fees amex charges made it more expensive than booking direct...

Definitely not true about the $2K limit. My limit is $24K.
$24K limit from the beginning, or did it get increased over time? I've never heard of a card with a $2K limit myself. Big Grin

Got this card with the bonus offer a few months back. Spent the required amount and got the bonus a few days later. Strat wasn't for me so I called and switched it to the Costco (You need to have a costco membership to switch) Anywhere card. There was no credit history pull as they just switched in house and the credit limit was the same as strat. The $95 annual fee which was charged a few weeks prior was refunded and now I have a card I can actually use with a $750 bonus from getting Strat first without an annual fee. Overall 5/5 experience.

IDK. I got $7200 and I'd say I'm more of a "risk" than other people, just from my mortgage vs my take home pay. I always pay my bills but I don't understand why I got so much and others got $2k.
