I own both a Claw and a ROG Ally Z1E (that's modded). The Claw not a bad device. It's just not up to par with similar devices in the same space for the price.
It feels great. Runs pretty much anything that doesn't require high performance GPU.
I would tell anyone to go for an Ally Z1E in the used/Open Box market before looking at the Claw. Even this tier of Claw would be only be worth it at <$300.
my $0.02.
This claw was already $400 few weeks ago on here so it will be even cheaper in coming months, too much competition and nothing really stands out about the claw other than emulation

B) the MSI Claw is closer in form and size to the Ally so it's a closer comparison between those than it is against the Legion Go. I believe I read that the Claw and Ally displays are the exact same (but I could be misinformed) so that's about the only true similarity between them as far as hardware goes.
And again, it's *my* thoughts and opinions on comparing just these two devices and which *I* would recommend all factors considered between them.
But with 16GB RAM (wasn't there a 32GB model in preproduction?) , an "ips level" screen (whatever the hell that means), and a worse APU, the Claw just isn't going to cut it at around the same price.
It has one advantage over the Ally in that it has a usb4 port for expansion, so a non-proprietary eGPU can be used.
It probably has better battery life and is more portable than the Go… but I typically dock my Go with my eGPU and only occasionally do portable gaming. The Go is good enough for my portable needs as long as I have an external pack.

Only buy if you already have an Ally or Go... and if you have money to blow and want to be disappointed. Should even buy a Z1 Ally (Non Xtreme) over this one. 🤣
The Claw has Thunderbolt for eGPUs, which is a plus. The Original Ally needs a proprietary bs adapter.
PS: The Ultra 5 version is better the better buy IMHO (and others, just google it). It performs better at lower tdp because of less cores. Kind of what you want in a handheld. The graphics card is the same for both.
