$22 bucks on walmart. 38 on Amazon.
"QUOTE" review from amz Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020--I bought 4, and all 4 broke within 30 minutes. The plastic on the reel is not strong enough to reel in a lure with no fish on it. I read other reviews and hoped it was an issue that was fixed by now, but unfortunately it was not.
No current reviews. all from like 4 yrs ago. search amz wakeman fiberglass rod. Same picture. Doubt carbon fiber.
On Walmart same picture, and is called fiberglass rod.

Doing some quick research, I would not count the reel as having any value and it is probably best to consider just the rod and put your own reel on it.
There are similar combos on Amazon but those close to the size of this one they run about $40 and up which kind of makes this not abad deal if the rod is good.

There are many other of these China combos over there and you can find more reviews about them but the price can go up signatcaly past the HD one pushing $50

I do know it is all some risk but can see the utility of these to just have one in the car and ready to fish. I am also interested in hearing from someone that has one of these type setups.

Nice to see someone that knows how to do their product research and put everything so concisely. Big thanks. I found the same you did with the addition of some talk about the collapsing not working and guides coming off. Not as prevalent as the reel failures and other people did like the rod in general. Some reviews still rated favorable even conceding the reel total jink

Still could be a value for the rod alone at this price but there are others to consider that are more known and reviewed.

I bought something that looks just like this off of a prime website. The rod is exact, the reel is not. I use it for travel and my car just to have fun. I was able to catch quite a few smaller trout and a few larger (think 12"-14") fish. Its fun for what it is, but I would not expect too much. It sounds like this reel is junk. Mine isn't great, but its adequate for what I do with it.

Thanks for the real world experience. Sometimes adequate can be a deal if the price is right, especially when purchasing cheap Chinese gear that might only be used on occasion. Thinking I may grab one of these just for the rod and at least take a look.
