Friends don't let friends buy 12 points (unless they're aircraft mechanics).
There is another deal right now on the 6pt. I was scared I bought this one, originally.

For the uninformed, 12pt sockets have a much higher risk of rounding your fasteners than 6pt sockets do. You should always go with 6pt if you can, for firmer engagement and higher chances of success.

Never stripped the corners using 12 point, use penetrating oil and give it time to work. I've seen more cheap 6 point sockets than 12.

I think I have seen more broken cheap 6 points than 12 points over the years now that I think about it. The 12 points thinner walls must just make them seem weaker in people's perception

Some of the independent tool testing channels have shown that 6 point is the way to go, that's a major reason why you see people point this out now.
