I've had this tool for a few years now. I don't use it very frequently, but it's been reliable each time I need it. This is a great offering from Milwaukee. I use it mostly for cutting through tile to replace 3 handle shower valves to a single handle Moen Shower Valve with an oval trim plate instead of a traditional circular one, and I've also used the other cutting wheel for some repairs to my drain cleaning equipment. This tool is very easy to control and makes a lot less mess than a traditional grinder. If mine ever breaks, I'm buying another one immediately.
It's 12V versus the 'competition' at 18V+. Sometimes with hand tools, smaller/lighter is better than brute strength.
I have this and the Dewalt 20v model and I always grab the M12 cut off tool. Plenty power for the size.

Skip to the end to see the chart comparing Milwaukee vs all the others, otherwise watch their first cut-off tool video looking at Milwaukee. It's objectively under powered compared to the competition.

Confused as to why you posted this as a deal, but then proceeded to say it's not great compared to others on the market.

Seems like a decent price though.

You think this would cut through floor tiles? I want to leave the tiles under the counter cabinets this time for relacing the kitchen floor without ripping everything out. Putting in wood composite this time, transition into cabinet bases...

Yes it will, but if it's for larger cuts I'd definitely look at a larger grinder.

I have the ridgid, and it is as light and small as the milwaukee. I can choose to use a 1.5ah small battery or a 6ah, depending on need. And it did the best on the TTC test.

He sees it's a deal but is also aware the product isn't the best so he provides alternatives

If you're in the Milwaukee M12 platform it's a good deal.

If you're platform agnostic, or require a more powerful tool, then there's better options.

I have about 30 of the 24v Kobalt tools and now about 30 of the Milwaukee M12's. I always reach for the M12's first. They're lighter and smaller and get into tighter spaces. And in the case of the new gen3 stubby (2562/2563) they're actually more powerful.
