Desperate are the times when you need to plug into a VGA monitor port.

Seriously, that was my first thought! I haven't even SEEN a monitor with a VGA connection in years!

Businesses and schools who have ceiling mounted protectors that you connect to with VGA.

It didn't recognize the iPhone, but it did charge the MacBook Air.

Thank You,

Where is this used? Not many monitors left over from the days when a VGA port was the standard.

If you work for a company that won't upgrade hardware until it's broken beyond repair, they might still be rocking those projectors with VGA inputs. Kind of funny seeing a USB-C port next to it in 2024, but I get it.

Teachers. Not every district has HDMI. Some still use projectors and tech from 25 years ago.

I was about to purchase this thinking it was Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (HDMI one), lol. Guess Amazon or Apple is clearing stock because I highly doubt anyone would buy a VGA converter in 2024/25.

Set aside whether the Apple tax is worth it, relative to other Apple dongles this is a pretty solid deal. The Apple USB-C to USB-A adapter retails at $19 and is rarely discounted. This one gives you USB-A in addition to a USB-C power passthrough and VGA for those (hopefully) rare instances where HDMI is not available.

I'm still rocking with this model that was manufactured in 4/2005 and was my dad's. It's a nice monitor and while heavy, have it on a VESA as a second screen and it still does the job! I'm too cheap to upgrade it since it's not broken or dim!

My 100 years old bank still has all vga monitors in 50 locations. They aren't coming out any time soon. Some of those screens date back to 2003-2007.
