Curious, any unique ways we'd be able to utilize these? Looking for ideas.

You are asking ideas for spending money.. Smilie odd..
Everyday groceries, utilities, any big purchases, auto/home insurance pmt, property tax, car tax, advance income tax.. so many ways.... It is basically work as debit cards.
I may collect dust if you don't spend money anywhere.. Wink

At most grocery stores, when there is not enough funds left on the card for the full purchase, it will accept partial payment and then you will be asked for another form of payment for the remainder. This always tells me that the $200 on the card is used up, and then I can just throw out the card and start with another one. However, don't immediately throw out the card if you might expect to return any of the previous purchases.

Use these for auto-charge that you don't plan to renew. Empty the card before the auto renewal charge.

These are also very powerful for overcharging.

Too bad there isn't a 5% cash back from Apple Pay from any credit cards right now. It overlapped a few times in the past so you were earning 5% on top of the benefit mentioned.

Can't speak specifically about Costco gas but gas station typically has a large hold. I would use the visa gc to buy Costco gc and use that for gas.

I have had them rejected at Costco gas. They will work in the Costco store though if you get the visa version and not the mastercard version. They will also work at most other gas stations I have found.

Can I use my Staples reward points to buy one of these?

EDIT: Dumb question. Didn't read the OP first. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete my post?

I use them when it's more convenient than cash like at a gas station (except Costco). Some grocery stores nearby me also no longer except cash at their self serve check out lines, so they are useful there. I also use them to buy things online that I know I won't be needing to return.

I use them to pay insurance (auto/home/etc) bills, toll recharge, property taxes (takes 1.7% or so but still a net gain) - bit of a pain to $200 at a time. And then for some leisure spending which does not need returns and is not eligible for higher cash back on other cards.

Mastercard version works in costco as well because it is treated as Debit card and Costco accept debit card in Mastercard.

It might vary by location/cashier. The last time I tried to use the MC version, the cashier told me Costco doesn't accept them and never has. I've only bought the Visa version since then.
