I personally prefer my gamesir since I can do much more than the portal can. There are third-party apps like pxplay that work so much better than the official app for remote play. You'll find it's a highly debated topic here as there are plenty of diehard fans of the portal. I just preferred having more utility.

Are there any games worth playing with this on Android? I'm not paying console prices for my mobile games. I feel like a Steam Deck would be better so you can get all your steam games on it easily.

Could one use this with Steam link or Moonlight to do some gaming that doesn't depend on the phone?

I like the backbone more than the razor myself. My main go-to is my Gamesir g8, though. I've installed an updated mechanism to use my tablets. It's amazing.

Yeah, it's a hobby that gets you addicted, that's for sure.

Yep! There's also pxplay for streaming ps5. Not to mention emulation if you like retro games.

Just a heads up for those planning to use this an iPhone, picked one of these up for use with my iPhone 16 Pro (not Max) as they state compatibility even with cases. Well, I guess that depends on the type of case you have. I tend to prefer slim cases on my phones but the two I have for my 16 Pro were both too large around the camera cluster to allow use of this controller. Not interested in taking my phone out of it's case to play games, so this controller will be sold off.

How would this be versus the Playstation Portal? Perfomance about the same, I'd imagine..

You can actually pop the two parts apart. They are held together by springs and also carry the signals between both sides. There are 3d printable mods available online to help create an extension of sorts. Check out some YouTube videos on it, there are quite a lot of there that show you how. You don't technically need the additional mods as it will work with the springs exposed, but it definitely feels more authentic.

$50 is a good price for this. EasySMX makes some good cheap ones via china and there's a really awesome looking MagSafe slide controller (MCON) that is going to be out soon that I'd recommend everyone Google

I have a 16 pro max with the apple silicone case and it fits perfectly. That's after changing out the pads on the underside of the backbone.
