This is a legit rotary hammer. Takes sds plus bits and everything. But beware its more like a glorified hammer drill. I have it and love it but i use it professionally for installing lots of tapcons, and like 1/4" and 3/8" anchors and such. Now that being said in no way ever does this replace the need for a real rotary hammer of at least 1" capacity class. It DOES NOT have a chip only mode. So drilling like a 3/8" hole in solid concrete it works with a normal 6" length bit it works fine but say you need to use an 18" bit thats 3/8" it will do it but struggles. Obviously hardness of concrete varies so much and also if your jus drilling regular block its fine. If you have no other rotary hammer i would say no to this. I consider it more niche even if dewalt wont say that. Nice to have but not necessary.
