For free, you get live streaming, 2 way audio, notifications and remote siren control. If you want all the AI features and 60 days of cloud storage, plans start at $7.99 per month for one camera. It's $24.99 for unlimited cameras. Included at no cost is a 30 day trial of the premium features.

And anyone thinking of installing a home camera system should consider a wired system with an ac power backup battery. The thieves today know to use cheap wifi jammers to disable ALL wifi cameras like the Arlo in an instant.

They just raised prices on the subscription this month. I was formerly paying 12.99 for unlimited cameras for free cloud storage for the past 10 years and now it's between 19.99 and 24.99 a month that they price hiked it. I just cancelled all my arlo subscriptions due to the forced price hike and am going to just go to ring cameras instead which are cheaper and better software/app. I'm already in the ring camera system and was also using arlos and ring cameras although lower in resolution are far superior in terms of notifications and ease of use in my opinion. My arlo cameras are always so finicky and I constantly get notifications for nothing, plus lag time on recording. FYI for anyone considering getting these, I would say skip and go with a different company

Arlo is absolute crap. They used to be good, they were terrible a year and a half ago when I got a new house and set up a system. Hours spent on the phone with tech support just to get the cameras to work (I've been building my own PCs for 25 years, I am very technically inclined, this wasn't user error.) Every single time I'd get someone in a call center in India, about 50/50 on whether or not their accent was so thick that I couldn't understand them, who made me go through the same steps I'd already tried again and again.

Even with a good signal, live footage form the cameras is slow to load. Their devices are a hodgepodge of different charging mechanisms, some micro USB, some via their proprietary magnetic charging cable that you get one of (even though you ordered 3 cameras and a doorbell.

I still have the cameras, I sold the doorbell because there was often a 10-15 second delay when trying to talk to someone via my phone, even if I was in the house.

Arlo is garbage, go with almost any other system.

Arlo is crap. I've had over $1,000 in Arlo cameras. I had some older cameras that had lifetime subscriptions. They canceled them. We have been raising prices and doing really funny business practices. Can't recommend.

I am actually shocked you were able to cancel your subscription.. When I went to cancel mine the "link" to cancel (that they provided in all of their tutorials) did not exist. Had a HECK of a time getting to cancel.. I am not embellishing when I say as a conusmer, This company had caused me more headache than I have ever experienced in my life !

I had the same issue, had 404 code but in incognito I was able to open my.arlo.com to cancel. They gave me a 50% discount for 3 months when I tried to cancel. Going to use that time to find an alternative or maybe test out the free sub with hub.

Yes, if you want anything useful. The only thing you get for free is live-streaming, so Arlo is always going to be a pass for me.

I just want to chime in that Arlo is crap. Their service stinks and the cameras mysteriously work better when you have a subscription versus when you don't. I have signal issues with cameras 10 feet from my hub, and tons of false motion triggering which will kill your battery if you are going completely unwired.

If you feel compelled to use Arlo, buy one camera at a time and then get free trial service for several months each time when you activate the new device.

I can't with arlo anymore. Had 8 cameras, 2 bases over the years, subscription prices keep going up, cameras fail after a while. There are so many higher quality and lower priced options that use microSD instead of subs now, hard to recommend.

Having been on Arlo for over 7 years now, I can tell you that the new cameras are terrible (green lines that miss motio and not waterproof like before) and since splitting off into a new company, support is TERRIBLE. They are script based, take too long, and hard to understand.

Quick question for all those complaining about subscription fees... I've looked at Google, Ring, and Blink. Google gives you 3 hours of recording history before you have to pay for a sub. Ring makes you pay for a sub for recording history. Blink has the option but they also have the option of using a USB or SD card and storing your data locally. But, you have to buy the sync module and a USB stick for an additional cost. I think most of the Chinese brands are like Blink where you can choose a cloud storage option ($) or local storage with additional accessories for cost (base stations, modules). Do I have this correct? So is Arlo's subscription plan really out of bounds vs the bigger US brands? And if you store all your data locally, isn't there additional risk if the intruder takes your base station since nothing is stored in the cloud? I can certainly understand frustration around changing plan pricing (I think Ring changed theirs recently also), poor product quality or poor customer support. I am specifically asking your opinions about subscription plans because to me they don't seem all that different. However, I recognize that people tend to rate Ring and Google highly, so I know I must be missing something... Thanks!
