Ah this deal again. Before anyone asks:

- It has been as low as $20 at Best Buy. However it is still a good value at $30
- This is not just a charger it is a miniature docking station with an integrated power supply
- You will need a HDMI cable to attach to your monitor or TV…it is a docking station
- Yes. It works with Steam Deck, PC, Mac, Nintendo. HOWEVER, you must update its firmware AND 65 watts needs to be enough power for your device. Some laptops require more than 65W…check yours. (This is a docking station, so firmware updates may happen).
- The USB A 2.0 port is not really for device charging, so dont expect it to charge your phone. It is not for high speed data transfer. It is really for a peripheral such as a wired gaming controller, keyboard, etc.
- The USB C cable that it comes with it is very nice.
- It is UL rated. That is important to some people from a safety perspective and is worth a premium (to those people) vs a cheaper device with no certification
- Yes. I have 2 of them and find them to be great for travel. This works as a docking station for my Steam Deck when I am traveling. If you want an alternative, you can use a simple 3 port USB C adapter (with USB C in/out, HDMI, and a USB A port), plus a USB C power adapter.

Really too bad it doesn't have USB 3. If it did, you could as wired gigabit Ethernet with a USB adapter.

Has anyone come across a higher wattage version of this type of charger-dock? My laptop needs 100W min to charge and I would love be able to ditch my power brick.

A more name brand Mirabox travel HDMI hub/charger?

I'd suggest having USB-C to HDMI in the title somehow OP. dock is a good clue, but I didn't realize it had HDMI until I opened the thread

I'd recommend watching this review and see what fits. https://youtu.be/tSjWLdsSpIE?si=vpMqycRXNVWFMQ0D

Unfortunately the video didn't seem to cover any with HDMI video out feature that this charger dock has.

You also need to make sure that your laptop has DP-Alt mode (USB-C Display Port). Many people have complained about docks not working, but their USB-C port didn't support DP-Alt.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm wondering how this works with HDMI? I've never seen an HDMI port in an AC adapter. How would it work with Switch?

I assume a device (laptop, desktop, etc) connects to the dock via usb-c and hdmi connects from dock to monitor. Similar to an actual dock just an all in one (no power brick). Hence why it's for a specific device, like other docks, but possibly works for others.

This isnt an AC adapter. It is a docking station with an integrated power supply. That happens to be shaped like a usb charger. It works just like any other docking station

Switch to Dock via USB C. Then Dock to Monitor via HDMI.

Thats somewhat accurate. Its built by ROG but that doesnt 100% mean that it is for a specific device. Nor are most docking stations for one specific device in general. Most USB C docking stations work with a wide variety of devices (unless they are purpose built to attach to a specific device).
