I purchased this on woot just recently. Works extremely well and pot is dishwasher safe. Easier cleanup!

Always sells out super fast at this price. Buy now if you want one.

This thing is a braising beast. The enameled Dutch oven is worth it for this price alone.

Is this better than a crockpot? Other than the cast iron, what's the difference?

It does more, so yes, better. Much more versatile. It slow cooks like a crock pot, but you can also sauté, braise, and everything in between. Plus the Dutch oven in this can go from the insert to the stovetop to cook and then directly into the oven depending on your needs and what you are cooking.

Really depends on the use case. I have one and it's great for like single pot beef dishes where you can sauté and sear before adding the rest of the ingredients. The Dutch oven itself is a very nice pot. Is it better or necessary if you have a crock pot and an instapot. Definitely less use cases. Slow cooking is typically better flavor than instapot so maybe a case for this.

I was about to pull the trigger, but a few reviews pointed out there isn't a "high" slow cook option. You can make up for that in manual modes, but the manual modes appear to top out at 3 hours.

One of my favorite meals wants high for 6 hours. Seems like a design flaw to me, and unfortunately affects how I would use it in my kitchen.

Bummer, I like this concept a lot! I make pot roasts and being able to sear in the cooker could have been a flavor game changer.

Maybe the next version will have a high slow cooker function that will go longer than 3 hours.

One of those reviews.

Cast iron is hard. Might break a tooth.

Depends what you're cooking. For soups I find 6qt too small (also feeding 6)

ATK did a GREAT video on this device. I highly recommend watching it first before deciding. I decided against it, not because it's not good, it's just not right for my specific situation. It's a great device if it fits your needs! Skip to 17min if you want to get to the gist of it:
