I bought one just this week (typing on it now) and have zero complaints. It was an "Excellent" condition item and did not have a single fingerprint anywhere on it. Bestbuy will let you open and inspect any open-box item in store, so make sure you do so.

I ran some tests after getting it setup and it had less than 2hrs of battery use and was restored to factory default. Still comes with full 1yr manufacturer warranty if you register it.

The processor in this is great. MUCH faster than the Intel variants that you will find in this price point (1215U/1235U). It also uses DDR5 RAM, albeit only 8GB. I upgraded to another 8GB of Crucial DDR5 for only $18, but for my use case, 8GB would have likely been more than sufficient.

The biggest complaints people have is the screen and "lack of brightness". It's only 250nits, which is considered low, but I actually have to turn this screen down to 50% as it is plenty bright at that level and too bright for me at full. I never work outside, though, and lighting around me is usually well controlled.

The other laptops that have this CPU in it, or an Intel equivalent, are all $700+. I've compared the speeds to my $1300 work laptop with the i7-1355u and this thing is just as fast as it is with every task I've thrown at it (Word, Excel, multiple browsers, etc).

Keep in mind, this is NOT a gaming laptop although it is capable of playing some older games with the integrated 760M GPU. This is not something that is capable on the equivalent Intel machines as their integrated graphics are not even close.

You are getting a $700+ laptop, with the power and specs to prove it, at less than $300. Are there better laptops out there? Sure there are, but not at less than $300 and I cannot justify spending twice as much on something that is "new" and "may" be a bit better.

If you get it and don't like it, Bestbuy has a pretty lenient return policy on their open-box items, so just take it back.

Bought it last time and it's a great computer for casual browsing and moderate gaming. Graphics are more powerful than a Steam Deck and you can run a surprising amount of games at lower resolution, and no compatibility issues with full access with Windows (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox Game Pass, etc.). Pen compatible, an old Wacom AES pen and USI 2.0 pen both worked for me (with tilt).

Both RAM slots are accessible and upgradable. Comes with one 8GB stick and I ordered a similar one for about $20 (it was SK-Hynix 8GB DDR5 5600MHz SODIMM HMCG66AGBSA092N someone mentioned in the last deal for this laptop).

Great for the price and more capable (but less kid/idiot proof) than a Chromebook. My kids want to play Fortnite, Steam, or draw, and this works great with family management through the Microsoft Family account.

Not with computers, but I've bought "Good" versions of small appliances that were missing the box. They were in otherwise great shape and worked just fine for many years (coffee maker still going strong).

Obviously computers have a lot more that could go wrong than an appliance, but they say their computers are all tested to perform like new. The "Good" version may have visible scratches or minor visible damage. If you find one in stock nearby, ask them to open it and let you see it so you can inspect it.

The biggest concern I'd have would be the battery and how many cycles it would have left. Mine only showed a single full cycle charge and 2hrs use which I was pleasantly surprised with.

I just picked this up last sale for around $250 open box. Its good. Upgraded ram was easy. Definitely high performance cpu. Keep note - it's not a "thin and light", so battery life is ok but not great. I've had issues only with the screen saturation being way too much, reds and blues are way too bold and unnatural. I changed the color profile which fixes it, but then the screen is a bit dim afterward.

i got a old P14 Gen2 Intel I5 and want to upgrade just because it's slow
processor is

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz, 2419 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

and I added 32 gig of ram but it's still pretty slow when opening alot of tabs. I mostly use it to apply for jobs and learn urlhasbeenblocked programs but I still want to get something a bit faster with a better keyboard. i am thinking of getting this but I don't know if the ram switches over or I have to buy new ram.
