Rokus have one of the better smart tv OSes.
This is an absolute bargain for a 65-in OLED, but this TV has virtually zero reviews.
Nope, another member confirmed that you can still turn it off

Why not just pair it with an Onn 4k pro or Apple TV 4K?

Even high end TVs embedded smart functionality is lacking…

Seriously, it blows my mind that people even bother to question what the "smart TV" experience is like on a TV.

A $100 Apple TV is worth completely ignoring and bypassing that question. The new Google TV streamer if you want Android/don't like Apple.

Why are people buying thousand+ $$ TV's and using shitty user interfaces with a slow processor? Not to mention the amount of legitimate adware in these TV's literally designed to harvest and sell your data. These TV manufacturers would LOVE for you to use their smart tv functionality.

You need to relax. Not every tv is out to get you. My Sony Bravia 8 OLED I was able to turn on a simple Home Screen mode so I see zero ads and all I see are the streaming apps. Disney plus gives me DTS:X since Sony participates in that. It also runs just fine.

That's not necessarily true. My C2 (and C3) have great embedded functionality and to my surprise, both are still operating quickly. I've used various streaming sticks for probably a decade and I was able to quit and use the TVs. The only thing I've lost that impacts me is the PBS app and frankly, most all (if not all) of their programming is on YT.

No, it's not. I haven't checked in a couple months but I doubt that has changed.

Sony is still selling all of your viewing data and usage information.

Plenty of information out there on why you should not connect your tv to the internet and to use a steaming device you trust.

Dang, this is a good price on an OLED, even if Phillips isn't a player in OLEDs. I wanted to go OLED, but my room is pretty bright in the daytime, and all I keep reading in every review is OLED's aren't as good as Mini LED in bright rooms. That, and burn-in can still be an issue. I was worried that I watch YouTube and other internet streaming with static content.

Sooo, I went with a 65" Hisense U8N from Best Buy for $949, it's being delivered Monday. It is the best/most expensive TV I've bought since I dropped 3K on a rear projection LCD ages ago. I vowed to never do that again, and I haven't.

Should I have gone OLED anyway. Should I have bought the TCL QM8 instead of the U8N? These are the unanswered questions that rhetorically haunt me.

I got a basic Hisense 1080p 40". The colors suck, but I'll have to live with it until the 4-year extended warranty runs out. I really regret my limiting TV cabinet.

Since it's not mentioned, nor do I see any fancy lights in the pictures, I'm assuming this doesn't have Ambilight?

i am genuinely curious - what ads are you talking about? the big square ad sometimes on the right for a new tv show or movie? if so, that is 100000x better than the samsung OS or LG OS that has constant ads being thrown at you.

Correct , no Ambilight. I bet they will be in the US soon.
