Generally speaking, yes. I've been very happy with all of my Bosch 12v and 18v cordless. The newish 18v cordless sanders are very good and I've had no issues with the various drills, drivers, saws on the Bosch platforms. My only complaint is my [old] 12v multitool requires a wrench to change the blade but obviously that is remedied by the newer versions with toolless blade change. The drawback is the Bosch multitools now use the proprietary Starlock blades, which are more expensive and a little bit harder to find. With that said, they are quality blades. Some find the Bosch line of tools is lacking compared to the Dewalt and Milwaukee lines but I think they're catching up on the consumer side (new sanders, palm router, nailers, etc).

They don't seem to be running it now but Lowe's regularly offers (1) CORE 4ah battery + charger free with a selection of bare tools. Great way to add tools and batteries without breaking the bank.

Edit: they are running it but only on select nailers / pinners.

Lowes has the 18v charger + 8AH battery for $85 as a deal of the day right now. To go with this if you can find one at that price. Or otherwise it's a decent price if you need the 8AH 18v battery.

Those proprietary starlock cutting blades will eventually cost you more than this tool.

Good price if you can find it but the 8ah pack is awfully heavy / bulky for something like this.

I went to Lowe's Daily Deals for Bosch tools just now. Every single item is out of stock and cannot ship.

Looks like it's here, but "out of stock". May be worth a check at your local store.

Starlock system is great. Tool is excellent. You can find deals on blades. Snap on and release off. Way better system than others. Time is money

8ah is too heavy for the tool. 5ah is perfect

I really like Bosch stuff, but they also own Dremel, and you know how pricey reg retail prices are for their accessories.

Not trying to discourage anyone, just not surprised.

Starlock is a bit more, but the blade cost issue is true of oscillating tools in general. Yes, you won't be able to get those really good cheap deals on junk blades, but those aren't worth getting anyway. Those seem cheap until you need to keep swapping them out quickly as they get dull.

But yes you'll be able to find deals more often on non-Starlock blades, because there are more brands selling them. The 2 main advantages of Starlock are the ease of changing blades, and the ability to have longer blades with good cutting ability due to increased rigidity due to the interface design. I have both Starlock and non-starlock tools to take advantage of blade/ attachment deals for both

Great oscillating multi tool. Cuts through every type of material like butter (with the right blade of course).

Bosch is pricier than the run of the mill consumer brands such as Dewalt or Ryobi. Those work fine too. If you prefer a step up in quality, Bosch has a great lineup. I've had the 18v tools for years and they hold up great.
