Ok, breathe deeply. Repeat: "I don't need this. " "I don't need this." "I don't- " Aggghhhhhh!
Bought one of these a week or two ago when the deal was last posted. Crazy impact. I feel like Mario holding the giant hammer going after Donkey Kong. It actually has some pretty smart features if you look into it that wont break every bolt. Setting 1 was too low to get 100 ft lbs on my trailer lug nuts, even though thats what its rated for. Setting 2 did the job with room to spare. Really like the bolt mode as well. Highly recommend based on my first usage even though its overkill.
Good question. I believe they have the same torque so the primary question there would be which size IMPACT sockets you have already (if any), and also which other impact tool you already have.

If this will be your first and only impact tool, I'd lean towards the 1/2" to adeptly handle the 400 ft lbs of torque that the 921 can do and get a set of impact sockets like the Harbor Freight 37-piece set which includes an adapter from 1/2 to 3/8 so you'll be covered for the smaller sizes. You could get an adapter in the opposite direction from 3/8 to 1/2 but that's not smart for high torque. This setup should cover just about 80-90% of any DIY car stuff. For more ease of access in tiny tiny spaces I'd get one of the impact ratchets (DCF510 I believe) that have the swappable 3/8 and 1/2 anvils. These "only" get about 70 ft lbs, but for small stuff that's way more than enough and the tiny size means you'll use it a ton. Then the 921 will have the grunt for tougher jobs, with only a handful of non-pro situations requiring more (Honda crankshaft bolt, rusty old truck suspension bolts, water heater anode rod, etc). At that point you'd have to decide based on your frequency of use, to just get a breaker bar and extension, a corded torque monster at HF for <80 bucks, or the Ryobi high torque model, or splurge on this beast here.

I got the 891b from lowes for the same price but comes with an 8mah batt. Its awesome, not as big as this, but still plenty of power to break something loose or break it off. Lowes deal https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-X...5002909333

Is GCX legit? Did it work for you? I'd like to hear from someone other than the OP of it on here... Never bought 2nd hand gift cards, but if so I'm in.
the company is called raise. yes it's legit. i bought from them many times, going back as far as 20 years ago. i got ebay, BP, newegg, toys r us, sears (yes, this was a long time ago) and other gift cards from them in the past. i gt ebay GCs from them that were 30% off at one point. i just forgot about them because their discounts went down. i fully expected it to be 3-5%. i did not think they would do 17-18% off ort anything close to that again.

i bought a 250GC for $206 got it 2 minutes later, paid with it and my impact is already out for delivery with Roadie. should be here around 8pm-9pm.

I did it on a set of golf clubs from Dick's 2-3 years ago when it was raise . co m. Worked great then and that was only to save like 5%. Just remember that if you ever change your mind and return it, my guess is you can only ever get store credit back.
you HAVE to ask them to put it on a new gift card at the register. otherwise it goes back to the old gift card. tools can only be returned in store anyway, so you have no choice but to go to a register

This can be combined with discounted GCs from GCX, currently 17% off. $206 before tax was impossible to resist lol

Excuse my ignorance but what are gc and gcx

gc = gift card

gcx is a service that sells gift cards

link to the listings of home depot gift cards. https://gcx.raise.com/buy-the-hom...gift-cards

be aware that home depot only allowed me to use 1 gift card for my purchase, so i would not advise buying a $200 and a $50 gift card to buy 1 impact

Way more torque than really anyone's gonna need and too big for general automotive work, but it's a great deal. This thing's supposed to be a beast.
For most users the DCF 921 or 923 deals that have been on clearance at HD are a better fit, IMO.
Thanks for posting OP
need the "overkill" torque especially if you have to use swivels and extensions, you lose a ton of power going through those.

Awesome, thanks... made a new account and had the gift card in my email about as quick as I could open my email after confirmation page on website. Immediately ordered and gift card is now empty! I will DEFINITELY be checking here next time, could've saved quite a bit over the last few years knowing this!

Great buy. Finally pulled the trigger on this one. Too bad this wasn't on sale last time I actually needed it trying to break a caliper bolt free off my wife's 4Runner…lol.

I have the mid torque, but this beast should handle anything I'll ever need. Especially stubborn bolts.
