It's been years since I've seen a $10 rice cooker. But shipping kills the deal for us Prime refugees.

I have prime, and personally, the word "non-stick" kills it for me.

For 9.99, it doesn't have to last long. Non-stick will last a couple years at least.

Got this from Woot a few months ago for the same price, perfect for 1 or 2 people.

How would you know in this case it's time to move on after a couple of years? If you're using a wooden spoon to scoop out the rice

It comes with a white scoop so seems like you'd notice the black non-stick coating if it started to come off. Rice usually just falls right out of the bowl, no scraping needed.

Bottom of mine is scratched up a bit, i only cook rice and sometimes use steamer basket for frozen dumplings, vegetables. Any risk in still using it?

Bought it like 10+ years ago at target for $20 and use it for serval years with almost 5 days a week. The bottom coating did scratch a bit if wash it a little hash (for my case) but overall this is a reliable product.

Got one for around the same price from Amazon direct, been using it for about 6 months and non stick still fully in tact. I did not know that for about $30 you could buy one with a stainless steel pot, originally I was not sure how often I would use it so I figured around $10 if I toss it, its not a big loss. Now I know for the next one to go with stainless steel. I use this for rice, boiling eggs, steaming vegtables, tamales, and even used it to warm up soup a few times.

I mean, everybody's got that one pan that they paid too much for cause it was supposed to be some revolutionary, non-stick coating utilizing an exotic geometry or material to make it scratch-proof. That pan scratched up anyway, but you just can't bring yourself to retire it.

This however, is a $10 replacement. So if the coating is scratched, I'd say go....

I bought a few last time and gifted one to a fellow volunteer at a food drive who absolutely loves it, I have yet to try the other one so I cannot provide feedback.

I don't know why, but mine always boils over. Is there a max amount of rice & water. I think i normally do 1 cup rice and 2 cups water but it almost always boils over.
