I'd expect the regular 13 for this price.
I don't think you'll find a phone with an LTPO 4.1 10 bit display at this price range New unless you go for an older & used Samsung/iPhone. The 13's also have a giant battery at 6000mAh. They have wifi 7/5.4 bluetooth, UFS 4.0/etc. The only cons I see is no wireless charging on the 13R and the cameras are good, not great like iPhone/Samsung. The video recording has a bit of a stutter compared to Samsung being smooth & the iPhone taking the best videos. A used S24/S24+ will run about $500-600~ at the minimum (256gb) for US carriers & the iPhone 15 Pro (256gb) runs about $50-150 more depending on condition. It's also a gamble because someone could report it stolen & they'll blacklist your phone. Bestbuy open box for example or similar reputable sellers may be a better option but will cost more than average price on fleabay. (source: eBay sold/completed listings)

256 GB for ROM is huge. I am not aware of anything that ROM would be used for except possibly Android and Linux (assuming it is read-only that can be written to) and most phones use storage for Android and Linux. The need for ROM for anything else would be tiny.

Does the description say how much storage the phone has? The description says it has 12 GB RAM but RAM is not storage. Correspondingly it is calling ROM storage and, like RAM, ROM is not storage.

Okay I see that OnePlus 13R specs - PhoneArena [phonearena.com] says it has 256GB of internal storage.

does it make my phone calls sound faster? wait, this has a remote control IR port? get out! i thought most phones were cookie cutter crap phones...they decided to give a phone a feature? i dont believe it! still no memory card slot for additional storage, although if this was the 512gb model, it would be sufficient to not need one.

no esim is quite unfortunate in this day and age.
Esim gets your shit stolen. It already happened to a friend. They stole everything, b/c they had the phone number to reset passwords.
Apparently, there's no security. They can just call in and pretend to be you when reps don't verify.

The best deal so far on the 13 (or 13r) is a cold hard cash discount. A month ago OnePlus was offerint $100 discount on the 13, and then of coarse you start stacking 5% student discounts, coupon popup code, & trade-in.

The problem I have with freebies rather than cash is that nobody would buy nord earbuds for $100. And if you do and intend to sell, you'll never get that much, and you'll be paying ebay auction fees and shipping, not to mention the probability of a buyer returning the item back to you. It's just not worth it, unless you happen to be lucky and get an offer for a free watch 3.

If you want Oneplus, wait until they offer significant cash discount.

How does physical sim avoid this?

Is this true? The 12R supported esim so I'd be surprised if they removed it. Looks like folks on Reddit say esim is available.

Says esim exists. Maybe it came with an update?

Okay let's consider two scenarios
1. You can select from many different esim providers and compare the rate, purchase and install selected product for the selected length of service, all from touch of your phone, before you even land.
Or
2. You must wait until you pass through the custom, you have no cell service before that. you look for a cell phone booth at the airport possibly before you even pick up your luggage. You can only select whatever service they have, maybe require you to have foreign currencies so you have to look for currency exchange station close by. and you have to submit a bunch of application, just to get the service, and then you run to pick up your luggage...

The choice is obvious for anyone who travels and use data
You don't need to explain the purpose of esim, I already use it. I was simply sharing that Oneplus provided a dual SIM slot, since it might not be common knowledge.

And it is because the phone was unlocked? They cannot make call when the phone is locked, can they?
Now if we use physical sim without setting a SIM password (which I don't see a lot of people do), isn't it even easier for them to put the sim in another device and impersonate us?
Or are you saying they try to move the esim to a new device via reps and the reps don't verify? If that's the case, they will be liable for that, won't they?

Thanks, was able to do both. 423 out the door, I think it's a good price considering last gen 12R for 350 hit fp.
First time switching to OP, have always been a pixel guy (from their nexus days) but their recent iterations with the tensor core was just not it. Hopefully OP will not disappoint.

This phone blows pixle 9 away in terms of performance. Not even close.

The reset process is a operator policy, it doesn't matter if you use physical sim on esim. I'm sure you remember a lawsuit against T-Mobile that someone claim their Bitcoin was stolen due to hacker call T-Mobile customer service pretend they lost the phone, and reset their phone service on a new SIM card, Then gained access to reset crypto account passwords.
If anything most of esim them can only be activated once. Whereas anyone could unplug your SIM card and plug into another phone.

Or at least the regular 12. Oneplus deals have been absolutely awful in recent years.
