These are cheap for a reason... make sure you use a cc that gives you an extra 1 year warranty coverage to extend the lousy 2 year warranty on the amp to 3 years, you will probably need it. If the amps were made to last they would never only give you a 2 year warranty on them. Many dp's on these for failed amps through out the forums and on here are telling. Your much better saving up and getting a Rp-1400 when on sale or for a lesser budget the rp-1200. If you have the space and the $$$ , the rp-1600 is a montser and prob the best bang for the buck sub out there when it's on sale. I will keep up or be better then like size subs that cost 2X-3X as much.. JMHO....
nope same amp, same lousy warranty
Is the RP-1400SW worth the extra $300??

This speaker at this price did very well last time it was posted here when I purchased my first one. Going to pick up second to have a pair as I was very impressed with it. Per comments in the last thread I thought they fixed the issues with the amp on this and now have a better warranty.

I have two of these. Regarding the failed amp, it seems as though it's from being in standby mode for long periods of time. As such, I threw both of mine on smart switches that automatically schedule to turn off... and/or I power up the outlets and power them down on-demand. So these are never in "standby mode" which ... fingers crossed.... will notably extend the life of these.

As far as performance, I think one would be VERY hard pressed to find a better bass-for-your-buck subwoofer.

The new RP line is fantastic, I got 2x RP-1400SW that are still doing great. I don't advise buying this particular model because Klipsch upgraded the amp and provided the robust warranty with the newer RP models that are frequently on sale here in SD.
Older Klipsch subs have been known to fail prematurely.

I will echo some others.
These are extremely high performance for the price. They are physically larger than some folks will be expecting and will overload small rooms easily & needlessly. Medium and larger rooms only is my rec.
Use two 2 or 3 subwoofers for the most 'even' bass response throughout the space.
Possible longevity issues with the amps, though I never had an issue. That said do something if you're worried like buy a warranty but really for $400 these will not be beat. (they were worth the $1500 original retail, longevity issues not with standing)
Extremely tight bass with excellent reach into the depths. If you have muddy bass or ringing you have room modes and must use PEQ/DSP, you may also simply have too small of a room. Room modes are typically stronger in small rooms and square rooms.

I bought 2, have had 3 amp failures. Going SVS. I just don't trust Klipsch subs any longer.

Yes. Without a doubt. The DSP alone is worth three times that.

I can get an SVS SB-1000 Pro for $500 or is this Klipsch sub better? Looking to take my Kef Q150 setup from 2.0 to 2.1

they have manual gain control and manual low pass filter adjustments (Knobs on the rear). there is no built-in DSP or separate Klipsch DSP app available. you would need to do it externally with something like REW.

They also use steel stamped frames (Possible ferrous interference) versus die cast aluminum frames as seen on other products.
