$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Nope- you can only have 1 sapphire (of any type) open at once, and can't get a sapphire bonus at all if you received one in the last 48 months.
Current referral links are still only offering 60k--- rumors on reddit that 100k referrals for individuals will be live next week (8th was what I read)

Any way to figure out when you got your SUB for this card last time?
I opened the card in 2021, but not sure when the bonus came in.
you can unhide closed accounts and then look back through statements to see which month you got it. My statement showing it was dated June 11th 2021, so I think I am excluded until July to be safe...
I think I've had that in the past but I'm not one who is going to keep up with categories... Unless I am meeting a spend requirement for a bonus, I usually just use my Wells Fargo card that gives me 2% back on everything.
For the Chase card, I just want to be sure I can downgrade and keep my points and still use them on the travel portal for an extra bonus at times.

Flex or freedom unlimited. You'll keep the points and can transfer in-between the cards whenever.

You don't get extra bonus with no-fee Sapphire
Thanks. So I guess there's isn't a no annual fee card that also gives a 25% bonus on the points?
How long do such deals stay active? I want to cover most of July in introductory 3 month period so ideally want to apply by end of April. However, I dont want to miss the deal so what will be least risky date to apply as late as possible to get this?
Signed up using the link in the other thread and got a message about it being in review. Going to be really upset if it's rejected because it wasn't a proper link versus it being live now...
Odd that I applied and was denied am not in violation of the 5/24 rule, have an outstanding credit score, and am fairly certain (but not 100%) it's been more than 48 months since receiving the bonus. I did sign into my Chase personal account to apply. Anyone else have issues getting approved?
