For those who only want cash, not points:

$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.

Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.

Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.

Any 0% apr period on this?

Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.
The offer is supposed to be available online starting 04/03.
Not only is it in OP's message, it's also in the subject. Good grief.

Doordash credits appear to be useless. After discount and fees items don't even come out to be cheaper than buying from Costco.
Useful if you have a pickup option.

There is no advantage for you. The referrer gets 10k in points. But I imagine you have already received 50 dm's offering to refer to you.

The benefit is really if a friend or spouse wants the card. My wife referred me because I was just an authorized user on her card. Extra 10k of points for her. I still got the same 100k.

If that makes sense.

Do you mean the DD grocery credits?

Since you also get dash pass for free with the card you can get the order to $0.00 in fees (unless you count tipping the driver a couple bucks, which is both optional and still far less than the $10 credit).

I'm still gonna buy outright cheaper than local grocery stores stuff at Costco (like steaks or whatever) but plenty of stuff I get from local grocery stores Costco doesn't carry so never have trouble using the $20/mo in credits.

DM sent. This is a personal card so your credit is the most important factor.

From Google AI

While a credit card referral link itself doesn't directly guarantee approval, it can potentially increase your chances, especially if you're already a cardholder in good standing and the new applicant is also likely to be approved.
Here's a breakdown:
Increased Approval Odds:
Issuers may be more inclined to approve a new cardholder if they've been referred by an existing, responsible cardholder.
Boosted Welcome Offers:
New applicants using a referral link might receive a boosted welcome offer or bonus, incentivizing both the referrer and the new cardholder.
Referral Bonuses:
Existing cardholders can earn referral bonuses for each successful referral, creating a win-win situation.
Not a Guarantee:
Referral links are not a magic bullet for approval, and your creditworthiness and other factors still play a crucial role.
How to Get a Referral Link:
If you know someone who has the credit card you're interested in, ask them for a referral link before applying

On Business Cards use a referral link if you business is iffy. (ie I sell a couple of items on Ebay)

If you make the referral you have to pay taxes on the bonus points you receive. 10k would be the gross not the net benefit.

The overwhelming consensus from Churning sites is it is unlikely to help. (Google AI) gives a different take for some reason.

Numerous data points on Business referral links being helpful on a paper thin application.

Most companies don't report the referrals as income to the IRS or send a 1099 unless it's >=$600 in a single year... so you'd need to do 6 of these 10k referrals before that became a concern.

(I mean, technically, you're supposed to just self-report if it's not reported by the card issuer, but it's kinda like you were supposed to report use tax on things bought online you weren't charged sales tax for- technically true but almost nobody ever did it and nobody cared or enforced it)

Ridiculous tax IMO; but risk of IRS penalties if not reported.

Applied for a card for my wife about 10 days ago. E-mail said that it was being reviewed. Yesterday received an email that there was a suspected identity theft with respect to the card and the application was cancelled. I check with Transunion and nothing suspicious. Called Chase Fraud department with this info and spent 15 minutes on the phone before the card was approved- then had to call Customer Service to get card sent via Expedited mail.

Applied and got approved. When does the new account bonus offer show up on the app? So far nothing says I have the offer.

There is no advantage, it just one of those things you can do at no cost to you. Someone will get a 10k bonus which is nice, while you also get the max 100k
