Last brake job my 15mm 3/8 drive socket disappeared.

Got 8 other sockets and a sleek new ratchet and case for $15!

I'll bet by purchasing this set, my missing socket will reappear.

Thanks OP.
9 sockets in metric: 10-18. This lacks the 8 and 9 that are common for automotive applications. Otherwise, I like the small case and I'd get it.
Great price on a 10mm with bonus accessories

my 40pc craftsman set doesn't have 8 or 9 either.
Probably because all the sockets are 3/8 they didn't want to have an adapter

Seriously, if you want a cheap socket set, you can get a much better deal at The Dollar Tree.

They currently have 40 piece socket set for $5 [dollartree.com] which includes 16 metric, 16 SAE sockets, with ratchet, adapters, and extensions.

Thanks, this will probably be fine for me as I don't do a lot but what about quality? It's not like knife steel but still..

See that 3/8 to 1/4 adapter? RUN!!! All but four sockets require that shit adapter that will break for sure. Also I'm sure that ratchet is a genuine POS too. Great price though.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to sound so harsh. Wink

I guess $5 is not a bad price to spend, if it teaches you to never buy cheap worthless tools again. If you are needing to repair something, you are already having a bad day. Having inferior tools just makes it that much worse. Some things are worth spending extra money on. I've bought just about every brand of tools and have never regretted buying decent quality tool, at a decent price. I have regretted buying tools that are complete garbage. The ratchet set is so bad, it is not strong enough to even have China stamped into it.

That ratchet is complete garbage. It'll break after a few sessions.

Have you used it?

They released a bunch of new tools and sets that are around $5. I haven't bought the socket set personally, because I have so many already, but the tools I have held or tested seem well worth the money. I did get one of their levels and it's as good as any other budget level. Their new hammer is solid for the money. $5 for a 48 piece socket set is legit. Even if the ratchet breaks, you can easily replace it, and still have those 32 sockets and accessories for $5. That's a crazy good bargain.

I'm sure it's not top quality, but for $5 it may be worth it for some DIYes who just need something simple. Even if they're just trying to add some sockets, it's a good value.

Yes I have. The gears inside will break. The sockets are worth the $5 as you said
