At $7.50 this seems like a good option for parking a number short-term for porting out then back in to another provider. The only hiccup I see with infinimobile is that they will require a 5-day period of service before allowing a port out.

Anyone have any better recommendations, or is this indeed a solid option for SIM-based port out options?

Good luck!

12 month plan after clipping the 25% off coupon = $9.375 per month if my math is right. Not bad 15gb / month data for $9.38 / month for a year.

I have this plan and so far no problems.

I don't know. Usually the prepaid plans are deactivated after expiring, so if I stay with Infi it'll be regular price if I choose to renew which I won't do, unless I snag another discounted deal like this one. If there's no equivalent option at infi at that time, I'll be shopping around and jump ship for the best deal available. My loyalty with these things begin with my wallet.

This is my feeling too. For now, I have a one-year plan for 7 months and it has been very good. I paid $99 for that. I just signed up for two plans at $75/year. Like you, if these plans go up a lot after the years is up I will likely go back to Tello or maybe give US Mobile a try.

Would I be able to pop the sim into a T-Mobile hotspot and only use the hotspot data?

Infimobile is very particular about the devices allowed. If their imei checker says it won't work then don't bother. They'll cut off access to any device that's not approved, even if you use the sim already activated on an approved device.

Before buying the activation card, I checked my device's IMEI on their checker and it passed. I then bought the card and while attempting to activate, their system said that my device was ineligible. (Motorola android, spent some time on Tracfone Verizon plan, and then others on VZ, so I know it does VZ ok). I called their customer service number, got right in and explained the situation. They checked on their end and said it passed, and they completed the activation for me. Was active withing minutes after, and had no problem since.

Perhaps I'm not following what you're saying here: "They'll cut off access to any device that's not approved, even if you use the sim already activated on an approved device".

Does anyone know how long the sim will last prior to activation? As in how long can I let it sit unused and still activate it down the road?

Supposedly just 60 days per the previous thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/18154135-infimobile-1-month-unlimited-talk-text-plan-15gb-data-verizon-or-t-mobile-7-50?src=SiteSearch&prop=&attrsrc=#comments

If you activate the sim using a whitelisted device, then move the sim into a device that is not whitelisted, they will block the device from the network.

Is there a website where you can search if a phone is compatible with this plan? I was thinking of getting a senior family member their first cell phone and figured it would best to get a no frills phone but not sure if this plan would work with that.
