According to some cursory Googling these points are worth about $0.007 each, making 1,500 worth about $10. Is this worth the hassle for only $10 worth of points that will be another hassle to use or that I might never use? Do they expire? How many accounts do I have to log in to to get them. Do the account logins require MFA and playing the arduous game of typing in codes from text messages or emails?
chuckled at the time spent Googling and typing that out vs. just doing it, to each their own bubba

Looks like they expire 2 years after accrual. I stayed at a hotel of theirs in March 2024, and my account says they expire in March 2026. I guess that's pretty generous since most places would probably expire them after a year of inactivity.

I must say, I have enjoyed all my stays at their properties though. The few times I've stayed, they've always had a delicious complementary breakfast, and the rooms have even been what they deem a "studio suite" (basically extra large seating area and in room kitchen".

Sure it's worth it. All of us legacy members do this type of thing. I'll take $10 any day.

so 70k Marriott points for a $490 room for one night, that sounds about right

I don't think the specific points expire at two years. If memory serves, the entire balance expires if your account balance doesn't change for two whole years. So earning even one extra point should reset the clock. https://www.nerdwallet.com/articl...nts-expire

It really depends.
Same place I stay regularly at can vary wildly

Standard room:
$135 42k/45k points or $420 at 45k

1 Bedroom Suite
$217 86k points or $470 at 185k

Room costs by $ changes continuously. Hotels had surge pricing down way before Uber thought of it. Points cost fluctuates far less frequently.
