I've been cutting hair for years. The clippers aren't bad if you buy them and change their blades out. If you're keeping them stock you're better off just buying well known names.

In that sense if you're going to go that route, just buy some AliExpress/Temu models for $10-20 and change the blades out.

I've done this on some cheapos and they work great. I also own $200 babyblisspro, sc, jrl, wahl etc.

Trimmers. Do yourself a favor and spend extra for brand name unless you only want these for beard trimming, your neck, or for kids.

Crisp lines you're going to need Babybliss, stylecraft etc that are zero gapped.

Just my 2 cents!
Wahl STD. It will have them cutting like a $150 magic clip.

It might be time to upgrade. Wahl is a good brand but like Andis they have cheap crappy clippers and amazing pro series.

With the pro series you automatically get the legit guards also.

Wahl magic clips, vapor, and senior are good ones to look into.

If you don't have none of those, you're even better off just getting these off of woot.

Thanks for the feedback!
Is it worth $15 more to go with something like this from Glaker? What's the difference performance wise?

Or You can get this kit, probably manufactured in the exact same factory, with the same quality and usability, for 25 bucks. Bucks brand new from Amazon.

As others have mentioned, these cheapos don't cut as well as high-end name brand clippers. The hair clippers tend to get bogged down with thick hair, and the t-blade clipper won't do a zero gap clean cut.

But if you're just cutting your kid's hair, or shaving the hair on the back of your neck or stuff like that, these are fine and --especially the $25 set--provides a lot of functionality at a cheap price.

My Limural hair clipper looks 99.5% identical to this - only difference is that mine is silver and is badged "Limural". The battery life is phenomenal - I only use mine like once every 6 months because 5 times out of 6, I just reach for my corded Oster. It's also whisper quiet and doesn't vibrate (because the body is very hefty metal and absorbs vibration). If I put it into the case at 95% battery life - when I bring it back out ~6 months later, no joke - it says it's at 93% battery...which is amazing. It usually takes me 10 minutes to cut my hair and it usually dips only ~3% in battery life. My biggest gripe are the atrocious combs - not only are they plastic, but like this super flexible plastic - so if it bends while you're trimming your hair - now the length of your hair at that given spot is shorter than the rest of your head. My understanding is that certain Andis combs fits it - but I haven't bothered to shell out another ~$30 for better combs since I already got the Osters.

It's about the blades. Anything from these brands aren't going to have great blades.

Any combo suggestion I give would most likely be around $150 (SC rogue, andis envy)

The woot ones and these are most likely the same blade just these might have better rpms and a longer battery.

If you're going cheap get the woot set for $33 and a Wahl STD blade $25.

Don't expect much from any cheap trimmers.

Fwiw I've received just as many compliments from home haircuts by a $20 Conair trimmer that's 15yrs old as I have from the occasional $50 professional cut w/ expensive trimmers. This will do well in the right hands, I think. We'll see!

I purchased these a month ago, so far I've been impressed. They're very sharp. The kit on amazon came with a carry bag, oil, and all the different combs. The power cords are not USB-C which is disappointing but they give you two cords to connect to a USB-A charger. The hair clipper case is made of some sort of heavy duty plastic or metal. The trimmer is made of a cheap plastic.

Cheap trimmers can follow your same principle of the cheap clippers. It's mostly about the blade. There are several cheap temu/aliexpress trimmers such as some of the Kemei ones that hit pretty good if you get a wahl 5 star or andis blade(some even require blade bracket mods). It requires a little research but worth it if you're trying to save some coin.

I agree although I've been burned on cheap trimmers. Some of their blades aren't swappable.
