Recent studies suggest that the artificial sweetener erythritol, often found in stevia and other sugar-free products, may be linked to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events, potentially due to its impact on blood clot formation.

Yes, that's why if you're buying Stevia, it's best if you go for Stevia extract. There's a good one on Amazon called Pyure.

One study that was poorly done.

In today's world, I have two options:

I can buy "Stevia", that has one ingredient... stevia.

Or, I can buy "Stevia" that has two ingredients.... erythritol and stevia... with the erythritol being listed first, meaning it's at least 50% of the product (or possibly 99% of the product)

Clear choice for me... but some people are willing to sacrifice their health to save $1 and will buy the second choice.

So you showed up to the thread just to complain about which cherry picked "recent studies" you believe in? LOL.....

BTW, "rEcEnT sTudIeS" suggests that tactic is found welcome, useful, or changes a single mind -137% of the time.

What pure Stevia do you buy? I didn't even think it was sold in the US. I travel to Colombia several times a year and bring some back home with me when coming back....which oddly the TSA the doesn't freak out about. You'd think bulk white powder from Colombia would be a red flag but they hardly bat an eye

When purchasing prepackaged retail items in big box stores....absolutely. Heck, fake products probably make it over to USA retail outlets more often than down there just because the markup and demand in the US is so high. There the prices are so low (comparatively) for most groceries it would be like spending 99 cents to print a fake $1. Not worth the time or effort. It might even cost more to make a fake product in many circumstances. Now street vendors is an entirely different conversation.

FWIW; I think you may have a very different idea of Colombia that what the reality actually is.

When i googled it months ago, I recall it was a few studies. But I agree with your theory. I should have at least duckduckgo...ed it instead. Studies are whacked and crooked.
