But I don't believe it can be left down while cooking - maybe that's what meant?

Not many can be left down while cooking - Halo is the only one I know of.

We bought the 3 burner Weber last week from Ace and someone mentioned you can't keep the hood down when you cook.

We did actually end up returning it because of Aces return policy, and are planning on rebuying it from Costco for $20 more. Ace only allows returns for unopened/unused grills. We weren't 100% sure we'd love this since it'd be our first griddle grill so we didn't want to chance it.

Didn't know Weber made griddles like this. How are they compared to the blackstones?

Though this review doesn't speak to this specific model, lots of valuable info worth considering if in the market for a griddle…https://youtu.be/rDxvwQ5yueg?si=iAGGeNjbyE0UvwOb

From reading online, Blackstone has horrible reviews, esp compared to other brands.

I have a webber grill with the griddle insert (made of the same material as the standalone griddles). I don't even use the grill anymore.

I have a blackstone with a lid and it's been ok, but I've heard a ton of positive feedback about camp chef. I have a smoker by them and love it!

While I cannot compare it directly to other griddles, I have had this griddle for about 2 years now, and we absolutely love it. Nice even heat, except on the windiest days, and I much prefer the version front corner grease tray over the back our blackstone adventure has.

I assume these rust super easy with the high humidity. Looks like the rust free ones are double the price. Can anyone comment about rusting? Upstate NY here

BJ's club has Blackstone with Hood and Soft Cover for the same price. If you are a member, I think that is a better deal. I bought one from BJ's about a week ago. Still didn't put it together due to the bad weather.

I believe that the Weber does not have a hood. It looks like a hard cover when not cooking.
